Personally, I'm still trying to work it out.
I don't believe that God would approve of any religion at the moment.

Who's that Knocking on my Door?
by prophecor init's saturday morning, the most notorious day for field service.
do you recognise the knock?
can you tell, for whom the bell tolls?

Im fortunate becuase the witnesses stay well away from my door, its funny to watch actually because they go to all my neighbours / friends houses and get turned away because of my gossiping about them, however I can't seem to walk through my local town centre / supermarket or anywhere for that matter without the fun (embaressment for them) of bumping into atleast one.

I personally would never have an abortion unless there was something wrong with the baby and the doctors were 100% sure that the baby would not survive.
However, I am not totally against abortion either, some people find themselves in desperate situations were abortion is to them the only option, and I would never judge these people for this.

Do you believe that good comes from fighting?
by jeanniebeanz infor example, if you and your significant other fight, does any good ever come of it?
what about getting 'into it' with your teenagers; is that a good thing or a bad thing?.
does fighting ever yield a favorable outcome?.

Well, fighting with my man last night earned me a cup of tea and a bacon sandwich this morning so I'd have to say, yes sometimes!

Do you think of yourself as an apostate
by barbar inmany of the people on this site say that they are apostates.
but that is not the way i feel about myself.. i am not angry with the "witnesses" or the organisation, i don't feel that i wasted my life.
i just think that i was stupid to believe it for 30 years (well sort of believe it, i did have severe doubts on and off).

Ellie
No, I'm not an apostate, I don't feel the need to waste any more time on those people or the organisation, however I do like this board because I can relate to what other people have been through and it makes me feel less of a freak.

Depression and JW's
by damselfly ini don't wish to hijack the chronic fatigue thread so i started this one.
when i was a teen i suffered from severe depression brought on by emotional abuse, sexual abuse and the jw way of handling it.
i couldn't physically get out of bed, didn't know what day it was, had no desire to eat and dropped below 100 lbs.

Ellie
I don't know much about depression but I have noticed that a lot of witnesses have Obsessive Compulsive Disorder or atleast obsessive tendencies.
I heared a talk about what they called 'habits' which was getting at OCD, and they basically said to put more trust in Jehovah to help overcome this mental illness - utter codswallop!

I remember being scared out of my wits as a kid, being told all manner of ghost stories, mainly about the house my dad and half sister lived in before I was born, apparently someone had done a ouiji board in there and the house was posessed, they used to tell me all about it in great detail, I'm 25 now and still scared.

If a J.W. went to a Catholic Hospital......?
by hubert inhad to go to a catholic hospital ie: st. mary's, st. stanislaus, etc.say, in an emergency, but was admitted and stayed there for a few days, would he/she get reproved or disfellowshipped?.
would there be an hlc there to make sure that person didn't receive blood?
can the hlc gain access to the j.w.

Ellie
I doubt very much that they would get into trouble for going to a Catholic hospital as I attended a Roman Catholic school for years as a witness kid.
I don't know about the liason committee though.
