we are here, that is a fact, where did we come from?

belief systems are another thing, where is the proof of anything?.

This whole concept of what started the big bang, will probably always be a mystery. We probably have to accept that on some question we will never been able to find an answer. I think this is one of those questions (regarding the origin of the big bang). this does not in any way show that there must be a God though. The question can equally be applied to God. "What caused God to exists?" And the answer "he always existed, he is eternal", causes the same kind of unanswerable questions. If we look inside the universe then what we think of as action, cause and results are very subjective. We look to those in our dayly live and think there are an absolute truth. Quantum mechanics has however given an much more different view on action, cause and results. In ways that sometimes contadicts with all logic as we know it. Then yes, someting can happen without cause, and something can come into existance without cause. How? this is the way nature works. Why. I do not know. When talking about life, it did not came from nothing. It came from something different, and that is an alltogether different question. DB

Do you know the words to the national anthem?

ah to be a jw and be singled out every time it's sung or played.

since leaving the jws do you know the words to the national anthem?.

thanks to the school system and a pretty good memory especailly for lyrics i knew the words in two languages before i ever left the witnesses, something that i'm quite proud of today.

Just curious danny, why don't you care?

It is just a song, and a not very nice one. Not gives me any feeling, nor do I care to much about my country. Like some things of it, some things I do't. My country is not better then a lot of others.

Aliens/UFO's...Do You Believe In Them?

There have been UFO's of course, if you take the word litterary. Unidentified flying objects. because they were and are not yet identified. However it is very likely that they are have natural or human causes.
No aliens in UFO's here on earth.

I think it is very likely that if you count the number of stars and the possible number of planets that some must have developed higher intelligent life. It can however be quite few. For example if like 1 of every 1 miljoen stars contains intelligent life, it can be quite far, and difficult to reach.
But probably some day we will find it.

No. I had it years ago.

and had access to books about the JW doctrines etc. (even holding them in a library in my hards, but not willing to read them)

just had to find the truth myself, luckily I found it out on scienfic grounds

the talk given today sounded pretty convincing.

facts were stated about how our body is designed to live forever (the brain, blood vessels etc) and how all these intricated details about the human body raises us to ask the question: "did not jehovah design us with the purpose of living forever?

now i've read the threads about how there just would not be enough room in the world for all those people.

This is just B.S. Our body is not designed to live forever.
It is true that we want to live, we do not want to die. If we were created or evolved inorder that we would like to die, then we would not stand a change. There would be no humans any more. Humans and all animals have the instinct that they want to live. How could it be different.

Out body on the other hand ages. maybe he told you that we use only a very small percntage of our brain. That is just a myth.
Isn't it clear that our body works just the same as that of animals (the ones that are not suppose to live forever). Then how can he say thet we are created for everlasting life. just B.S.

This isn't really the issue! If you kill enough people, yes the remainder have plenty of space...

But the point is I left the meeting confused all over again. Can someone point me in the right direction? Is the Paradise teaching a myth or not?

It is a fiction. Wishfull thinking, a fairytale. Just a wish of many people. There has never been a paradise, mankind is much older then the 6000 years. So uch proof of that. And there will never be one, unless we create it ourselves

Man you should get rid of some more then the sisters can run the congregation. My dad says it happens here all the time on qualified brothers so the they use the sisters. My hope is soon no qualified sisters.

Sister would do it a lot better i guess.
But I did not suggest that to them. just "yes, i would try to turn in some more hours (that isn't very hard) etc. Then they left. isn't it simple....

okay now i will give you time to pick your jaw up off the floor while i explain what i mean.

i now belive that religion is just one of the many forms of control that the powers that be (hereafter refered to as 'tha man') use to control people and keep them under foot.

we know how the current administration uses the religious right to keep the electorate in line, but i also believe the wts serves tha man in the same way.
