I was raised as a JW, I think that speaks for itself, on how lousy it was....

Your earliest love affairs
by greendawn incan you recall your earlier history of falling in love?
what do you think about those experiences now?
when i think of them i judge them as having been totally vain and naive and having made me too narrow minded, passive and dependant on other people.

Hi,
you are in a difficult situation, where pain and hurt are inevitable.
You can throw away your life, and follow suit, but you probably could not do that forever. It would also be very hurtful.
You can break away violently, must will cause many hurt also.
I woudl opt for a middle way. try to slowly go out. let your parent know that you just do not believe the teachings. Give good arguments, if they want to listen. Assure them that you love them.
They try to do what they think is best for you, remember that. That would ease the pain they cause you, by forcing their religion on you.take care and good luck

Big announcement after all DC have ended?
by Quandary ini was told by a reliable source that the organization will be making a "big announcement" at the end of the summer when all the dcs have ended.
has anyone else heard this?
maybe this is the "new light" they have alluded to in recent wt study articles?

Do not see the connection of importance to the end of the DC.
by the way, there are some DC's even until january

Would I really want to be in the "new world" anyway...
by hartstrings inthis morning in the shower i was thinking about why it is that jw's preaching (like i used to do) about a paradise with no wickedness really bothers me.
if jw's are right and god is going to destroy the majority of people so that just those who happened to live at the right time, in the right place, etc.
can live forever with a couple of men telling me, a woman what to do, no thanks.

Hi hartstrings,
I was wondering about this myself.
Would I want to? I heard this argument so many times in the field service. But now I think about it, yes probably I would do it, if I had a choice. Hanging on to life is something human I guess, even in difficult conditions.

Are high gas prices affecting Pioneers?
by truthseeker in.
gas prices have finally broken through the $3 mark.. i have heard a few complaints about the cost of gas having an impact on people's budgets - especially if they pioneer.. it gets worse for those pioneers who drive an suv.. have you heard similar comments?
could the pioneer numbers be affected by the price of gas?

Hi Blondie,
We walked mostly about 10 to 15 km a day in total.
It is actually encourages, because when walking only you can talk to people on the streets that you pass (not that I did this). What is more difficult with a car.....
we started early and walked in the center of the city.
with the bike we cycled for 30 minutes to 45 mintes to the therretories which were the most far. With nice weather only.Of course in countries with a lower population density like the u.s.a. it is more inconvinient. Were I live there are no mountains, no hills. And it saves the environment.
So lot of pipneers go with bike / walking, even if they have cars.

The solution is very simple:
like we do here, use the bike to preach. That will cost less and also take more time, which means more hours for having less doors to do.
when I was pionering I walked to all teretories, including the so called country side terrerories (outside the city)

Punishing GB members, COs and elders
by greendawn inhow do you think the gb members along with the cos and elders should be punished for the way they emotionally and spiritually abuse and hurt the flocks of the naive r&f?
-
DannyBloem
I think living at bethel is worse then prison, so aren't thay punished enough.
as for elders and co's. Well only the a..hole co's and elders. The others are just victims like us.
one day they probably will realize that armageddon did not come, isn't that pubishment....
