What happens to bethel members who get sick?

say you get cancer or some possible terminal illness?

If a "standard Bethelite" you get sent packing.
If you're a "Bethel heavy", they might send you packing but as a "special pioneer" so you get the monthly stipend & a few other perks.
If you are a GB member, or helper, or head of a department, or a Bethel lifer aged 80+, or a spouse of such, they may accommodate you within Bethel, allow you to stay and take up a bed in the infirmary.

I often fantasize about time travel being somehow possible, then kidnapping GB members and various other obnoxious "Bethel heavies", and taking them back to Israel in, say, 1000 BC, or 500 BC, or 30 AD, just to watch their horrified expressions when they realize that the perfectly preposterous ideas they espouse about "pure worship" and what life was like in "ancient Israel" whatnot was all a bunch of complete & utter hooey.
I need to work on developing better fantasies, I know.

The larger the congregation, the easier it is to slip thru the cracks and fade.
Congregations are kept small, and field service groups are kept very small, on purpose. It's all about control, control, control.
Mega-congregations? Would never happen.

How Many Here Remember Hearing Details from the Platform on Why a Person was Reproved or DF'd ???
by RubaDub ini just had this flashback when commenting on another thread about how they used to announce reproof or dfing from the platform.
at least in our congregation, it was a dramatic event (this is what i can remember from back in the mid-late 60's or early 70's when i was a kid).. at the end of the service meeting, just before singing the final song, the brother would announce, "we have a letter that must be read.
the "congregation servant" (my grandfather or later my father) would then slowly walk from the back of the kh to the platform.
