The point here is- I have no point.
by becks ini am hoping there are others of you that have the same feelings as my self and can help me to move on from them!.
currently i am in therapy due to different things that have happened in my life (not just to do with the witnesses!!
) and i thought it would be good to share my last session with you.. as a jw you are given your goal in life- your point.

What's the most thought-provoking novel you've ever read?
by lucky ini'd have to say for me that it was ayn rand's the fountainhead.
even though i don't agree with a lot of her philosophy, it definitely made me stumble around in a thought-induced haze for a few weeks after reading it.

Children of the 80's!
by MelbaToast inalright, i admit, i was a child of the 80s (or what i can remember) but the real reason for this thread is i have noticed that there is quite a few of people on this site that are close to me in age or just a little bit younger or older.
i will be 28 in june.
i think that this period in my life is a deep questioning period, because at younger ages i didnt give a flip about anything jw or ex-jw for that matter.

What is Jacko's status as a JW????
by mrd83 ini know he was raised as a witness and he wrote the apology letter(which was published in the watchtower) as well as giving the wts a boatload of money($$$millions$$$) over the fallout of his thriller album.
recently he proclaimed his faith in jehovah as if he is still a jw and his father who kicked the crap out of his kids(requisite to raising a fine jw family) as well as his mother are attending court.
what is this guys status??

of the mouth of babes
by Crumpet ini don;t know what made me think of this as its a memory i haven;t retrieved in 17 years at least but it made me chuckle and it was a favourite story of my parents!.
when i was 6 and my little sister was 3 we were at a thursday night meeting, when she began to whispher to my mum " i want a smack".
my mother thought she had misheard and looked away but no lil sis said it a bit louder tugging at her arm, "mummy i want a smack.

my eldest son was about 4 when he was playing up in a meeting. he was reading/hitting the brother infront with- a winnie-the-pooh book. As he got more and more upset that i had taken it off him. he screamed "I WANT POOH" as i started to take him out to calm him down. well, it stopped the speaker in mid-sentence and many ppl couldnt stop laughing.

So I'm at the meeting tonight.............
by JV ini'm looking through the new awake magazine (great article on shoplifiting by the way) and this older sister comes and sits beside me.
she started talking to me about this great little piece in the magazine about fish or something that should be on my dinner plate, something that i don't really care about, then she turns to me and said and i quote " where else but jehovah's organization can we learn such things?
i sat there with a dumbfounded look on my face thinking " are you kidding me?

i remember being in a meeting in wales and the speaker told us that any music with a beat behind it could cause us to fall into a trance like state, so should be avoided. i still kept my cd's tho... wicked thing that i am...

What's the best way to FADE away from the JW's?
by JH inwhat do you think is the best way to fade away from the jw org, without being df'd and without being bothered by them?.
just stop going and not answer their calls?.
change congregation, and never show up?.

Did they try to get you to do prison witnessing?
by LongHairGal ini remember them trying to get a bunch of sisters to go prison witnessing.
i felt very uncomfortable about the whole thing.
i voiced my concerns to an elder and was told we were only witnessing to the women and we were safe.

no, but maybe thats because i wasnt 'priviledged' enough! But I did try and avoid street witnessing like the plague!!

Hi Rick, yes we probably have! I live in Ipswich now, so its still not far away. I once thought about going to one of the assemblies there, but remembered Id know most of the people there, so maybe not!
Diamondblue, thanks for the advice, I hadnt thought of it like that, but I can see where you are coming from. Ive posted elsewhere and feel like ive said a bit too much about me already anyway!!!
