Mine was being too honest!! When the generation issue came up in the 90's, I was the only one in my circle to shout bullshit!! Ha

Pyramid Schemes - Melaleuca - MLM
by NOdenial inok... this topic will probably get some people quite upset - but i am going to say it anyways.
the topic of 'con artist types' in the borg reminded me of this issue.. where i come from in western canada and usa, there is a huge issue of dubs getting involved in melaleuca.
there is one brother in the interior of british columbia that is making much more money in a month than most people make in a year.

I have'nt seen this product but I do live where the tree grows that produces the oil. The aboriginal people who showed us newer capitalistic inhabitants this amazing plant don't receive a single cent in royaltys from anybody. Now that's a ripoff

Wow, hard not to get philosophical...I have found that romantic love ebbs and flows, while love for my children is constant, unconditional. It came to me once in a flash of clarity that romantic love is trading. Sounds callous, but would you stay in a relationship where you get less in return?
On the other hand, ain't love grand? Bring it on!

Where else will you find such true friends?
by sass_my_frass init always bugged me when i would hear or read that the only true friends you would find would be those you made in the organisation - nobody else will really stand by you when you need them.
it used to puzzle me when (prior to being disfellowshipped...) my true friends and my close loving family didn't make contact with me for years, right when i was very deeply depressed and i needed them.
certainly i could have put myself in their lives more pro-actively, but, it's a very effective control tool to tell people not to bother befriending a non-witness; even if they don't damage you spiritually, they will never be as loyal to you as your brothers and sisters.

Yeah you're right. I spent yesterday planting trees in a national park with about 10 others. Afterwards I had a feeling of peace and satsfaction, something I did feel occasionally after preaching(don't like the term witnessing). I learned heaps about the people I share my community with....

Yeah funny how people relate to Nimbin.. Had their mardi gras festival a few weeks ago. I just moved from Byron(30 years) to this multiple occupancy a few months ago about an hour south.
I guess others will just love us pinching this topic and having a little Aussie natter!

I guess ya mean sex. Katrina was probably disapointed as I was younger than her and quite anxious about performance as teens tend to be. But she was my first love and I always will remember the new found passion....ah yes!

Crazies in the kingdom hall ... but I understand them.
by ithinkisee inthere are some people (ex-elders) in my hall that are turning really creepy ... falling in and out ... in their 50's ... .
people say they can't understand how they used to be these cool elders, and now they are totally weird.
their kids are around my age and it is killing them to see their "previously elder father" falling in and out of the truth.

I too occasionally run into exfriends(exelders etc) who are in /out of that org. The first few times I would listen to their woes. Now I reckon they are just pussies, too scared to face the truth that they have wasted their best years believing a lie.. They are willing to sell their integrity rather than face being excommunicated. No sympathy here...

Will humanity EVER outgrow God?
by nicolaou infirstly let me say that i am not trying to offend believers - i was one for most of my life.
nor is this a discussion about whether god/religion is a 'good' or 'bad' thing, that argument will rage forever.
what i'm asking is really a simple question;.

Had a dream in India a few years ago. No I wasn't stoned! In this dream a voice told me that humans created gods and goddesses to take the responsibility of being the highest beings in the Universe away. We are afraid of our power... The final statement of the dream was "to be truly human is to be personally responsible". So until humanity get responsible for its (our) actions,we will be stuck with our "super parents" telling us what to do, via fantastic organisations like jw's of course.........

Actually don't know if I am.... Once the veil lifted, I never looked back. Went clubbing instead. Much more spiritually satisfying(or was it the pills?)
