Only Brits and Aussies can appreciate the boredom of working for the Public Service. I was told as a 16 yr old that I worked too hard and needed to slow down so as not to show up the others.

Bi-Sexual
by misguided ini guess my new-found freedom of personal expression is working its way down to my kids.. i came home from a crazy day at work, ate my dinner, was loading the dishwasher, when my 13-year-old son says, .
"mom, i have something to tell you - i'm bisexual...i've been that way for a year now.
i still can't help but have my old jw brain at work, thinking this is not okay - kind of like, i'm an apostate with a bisexual son...what will my family say?!

Most adolescent males go through a stage of having deep emotional/sexual feelings for another male. It dosn't necessarily set their sexuality in stone. The hormones are racing. Ever observed a a male puppy? They are as randy as hell and mistake any affection as an invitation for sex(like your leg!!). I've been working with teens for a long time and had two of my own. It'll probably pass but if not love him anyway, he's your best boy...

"This Generation" change -- fallout evidence?
by reagan_oconnor ini was reading the recent posts on 2034 and was wondering... .
the 1975 debacle left the fds scrambling for explanations for the mass exodus of r&f who were disillusioned by their bs.
the pat answer has always been, "those people didn't keep pace with god's chariot" and they weren't "strong in the truth" and allowed something so "minor" to "stumble" them.

And Netty. The same for me. When I challenged the elders they said I had had it all wrong, that the society always said that. Funny how no one picked me up on the point going door to door for 20 years!!!!!

That's interesting S. From what I have read here, it appears that many had lingering doubts and the generation issue was the tipping point. Waddayareckon?

Recently Disfellowshipped
by dfd ini having been "lurking" around here for about a month--right when i was disfellowshipped actually.
in a year long relationship--broke up-five months later had a bout of conscience and told on myself.
myself and my ex are disfellowshipped and now most of my former group of "friends" are getting in trouble.

Welcome
I agree with all above, maybe one suggestion is to drop those loaded jw terms for your position. They are so wrapped in guilt.. You are a normal young person, they are the outcasts in society
I would like to hear your story if you feel comfortable in sharing.....

You are in a tough middle ground Frogit. Realising that your friendships in jw land were all conditional (and now gone) and starting fresh in making new pals. Been there mate, so I understand. Good luck.
As far as single jws, I am beyond sympathy. It's ironic but when I left I was tarred with the dirty immoral sex brush but am actually far more moral than I ever was as a jw

AND NOW, THE REST OF THE STORY!
by Outaservice inin the 16th, and 17th centuries, everything had to be transported by ship and it was also before commercial fertilizer's invention, so large shipments of manure were common.. it was shipped dry, because in dry form it weighed a lot less than when wet, but once water (at sea) hit it, it not only became heavier, but the process of fermentation began again, of which a by-product is menthane gas.. as the stuff was stored below decks in bundles you can see what could (and did) happen.
menthane began to build up below decks and the first time someone came below with a lantern, 'ka.........boooom!'.
several ships were destroyed in this manner before it was determined just what was happening.. after that, the bundles of manure were always stamped with the term 'ship high in transit' on them which meant for the sailors to stow it high enough off the lower decks so that any water that came into the 'hold' would not touch this volatile cargo and start the production of methane.. thus evolved the term "s.h.i.t.
