Will Bush change his view on global warming now
by ballistic in.
this is what they are discussing on bbc news 24 right now, in relation to the katrina hurricane.. their conclusion was quite negetive, i was just interested to see if anyone on here had any views?.

Those who saw 1914...
by OldSoul inlet's do a little exercise:.
if the generation that saw 1914 will not die before armageddon, as specifically stated by the prophet class (the faithful and discreet slave, per current understanding), how many are left?.
i'll be generous and say that a nine year old could grasp the sharp 1914 changes jws cleave to...well, cleave to religiously, i suppose.. according to the population division of the department of economic and social affairs of the united nations secretariat, world population prospects: the 2004 revision, accessed online at esa.un.org/unpp, sept. 1, 2005, there are about 265,000 persons age 100 or older (that is, who were alive in 1905) in 2005. in other words, world-wide there are fewer from the "generation" that saw 1914 than many city populations in the u.s. alone.. now, suppose for the sake of ludicrous forebearance, we say that the prophet class is allowed a mulligan (a concept flatly disallowed by deuteronomy 18:20-22 and 1 john 4:1).

I watched a program last night on this very issue. Arguements went for and against. I must say that ice drilling has proved that this is unique in world history (huge carbon dioxide bubbles the last 30 yrs), well 100.000 yrs anyway, opposite to an above poster.
Anyhow the final point was whoever is correct or not the ice is melting all over the planet. The oceans are rising as a lot of ice is sitting on the ground. You follow? Ice that is in water displaces its own volume but ice on land...e.g. Antartica and Iceland Greenland is all adding to ocean volume.
Head for the hills and pull the shutters down, put your head between your knees and kiss your arse goodbye.

I won't shave my body hair, so there!
by crankytoe inmost of the women i've dated never seemed to have a problem with my body hair.
but every now and then i run into a girl who seems both amazed and disgusted by it.
it's happened often enough now - so i'm wondering if all women are turned off to varying degrees?.

How do you imagine the world 10 years from now?
by JH ini think that 10 years from here, we still won't be in the jw new system.
i also think that gas will cost 4 times what we pay now.. many more natural disasters will happen, like the tsunami and hurricane in new orleans.. there will be a financial crash .
living conditions will be harder, less clean water, more pollution.

Yeah Fleeman it snows every winter thre but Sydneysiders don't call the Katoomba part of Sydney!
Up here on the north coast of NSW it snows way inland but I am about 2 k's from the beach. Cold nights but they are fading now as the sun is rising earlier and setting later. I live in the Aussie bush, so Spring is all around me!! Animals are getting restless, read mating, and flowers are blooming on the ground and in the trees. Yes flies are also just appearing, I forget them so quickly.

I'm amazed by the comments of women here!!
I have had lovers of differing body shapes and degrees of hair. I didn't do a folicle check before getting attracted to them. I found much bigger turn ons and offs in their attitudes and opinions. I actually have had to clear a lot of womens negative attitudes about their own bodies before they could truly open up.
I enjoy the difference in body hair styles! .Have'nt needed the clippers yet! Well....

Guy at Mcdonalds I wanted to punch
by professor inyeah, so yesterday i'm at mcdonald's with my kids.
this guy walks in all full of dried paint on his hair and clothes.
he sits down with his food, and then starts preaching out loud to the entire restaurant about how the hurricane is god's way of punnishing the whores and the homos who are now paying the price for their sins.. .

Rescue inequality?
by Simon inthis doesn't sound right:.
hyatt guests given priority.
at one point friday, the evacuation was interrupted briefly when school buses rolled up so some 700 guests and employees from the hyatt hotel could move to the head of the evacuation line much to the amazement of those who had been crammed in the stinking superdome since last sunday.. how does this work?

Yeah I've already vented my feelings about that on other threads. Tragic all round really.

No more hand claps, please
by coolhandluke inat conventions especially, hand clapping annoyed me to no end.
the first day i was excited and really in the business of clapping and silently condemning those around me who didn't do so.
i even condemned those who i thought did not clap enthusiastically enough for my tastes.

What used to crack me up was sunday arvo after lunch drool out of mouth and the speaker would say something like, Isn't it tragic how many bros were killed in Zimbabwe? or whatever and some sleepy bugger would take the pause as a spot for a clap. They'd always get a couple of dozen to join in!!!
The speaker would soldier on realising that his audience would rather be anywhere else but listening to him.....
