For the posters who live outside Australlia, a dingo is a native dog that has a reputation for being gutless and attacking the weak and defensless. Of course it runs off when it sees a man.....

The first century also had (by bible reckoning anyhow) Jesus performing personal miracles, miraculous speaking in foreign languages (tongues), direct healings, resurrections, evidoers in congregations being struck dead for greed, direct visions of Jesus raised to heaven.
What happened?
Oh so they say that these miracles are no longer required due to preaching work? Well then no longer a need for cong, elders servants etc etc. Can't have it both ways.....

Pop Culture From Younger Generation Being Followed By Older Generations.
by Yizuman inimagine yourself as a young generation dressed up in today's pop culture style, listening to today's popular music and have a pop culture phrases such as "dude", "chill" "l33t", "epic fail", "fo shizzle", etc.
you get my meaning.. now imagine a 80 year old trying to stay on top of today's pop culture with his pants below his waist with his underwear showing, along with some bling - bling, bangin' to today's popular music, etc.
(ew, i think i just threw up a little).. how do you guys feel seeing older generation trying to "get with it" in terms of language, clothing style, music and everything else that's considered "cool" in today's pop culture?.

It's an interesting point. In this country I see that fashion is stalling.
The baby boomers who ran fashion for the last twenty plus yrs, marketed to all generations, so this backfired into nothing being unique. Look at surf clothing. I see eighty yr old people wearing Billabong and Rip Curl surf and snow gear.
Knda funny that the next generation may find fashion in second hand shops, costing nothing...

DF or DA what do you think the difference is?
by Rosey ini would like to know from everyone first of all what they think the difference is between a df'd person and a da'd person.. i would also like to know what everyone thinks that jw's think is the difference between a df'd and da'd person.. personally i am df'd.
i was df'd 10 years ago almost and did not argue it at all as i had no desire to continue as a jw anyway.
before being df'd i was always under the impression that if a person da'd themselves it almost always meant they were " apostate" and that there was no way a jw should have any contact with them.

I don't know or care if I am disfellowshipped or disascociated, just so long as they DON'T talk to me.
I want no contact with them on any level, "family" included.
This is not anger, more embarrassment! Lol

Also, Mammoths were covered in thick fur to keep out extreme cold.
The wts teaches that all the earth was a hot house, needing dinosaurs to keep the jungle down, the fozen poles only happening after the "water canopy" became the oceans.
You can't have it both ways...well, with the wts I guess they try.

My favourite is the dancing Shiva, Nataraj. The sacred dancer who drives the Universe.
Gotta get a male god in there...

Were there any "dynasties" in your congregation?
by truthseeker indid your congregation have any so-called dynasties, or "a succession of rulers who belong to the same family for generations"?.
my last congregation had a family who had or seemed to have complete control over most aspects of congregation operations.
they like to run the show and make it obvious that they are in charge.. then there are those who receive unearned privileges because their father is an elder who fast tracked his son to eldership.. .

It was chilling reading the Berean's comments as that is EXACTLY my brother's dynasty.
He bought houses and businesses for the "faithful" children and has frozen out the others completely. Also did a fantastic job of covering his kids misdemeanors as they grew up.
Ahhh the elders ol' boys club
