i saw a beatles thread was started about favorite songs- so i thought i'd start several threads on other groups who were very important in rock and rolls development !
here are my favorites from led zeppelin, kind of in order.. .

Bit late to post but I was walking down the main street of my town about 10 yrs ago and there is Robert Plant sitting at an outside restaurant! I went up, as he smiled when I passed. We chatted and he signed my shirt..Like meeting God!!
I reckon Whole Lotta Love changed my prepubescent life.

i know this person that for many years has been unkind, devious and vengeful and then over more recent years has had bad luck everywhere they turned around.
i mean one thing after another.

No, I didn't enjoy that book and haven't seen the movie. I travel a lot to Bali, as Australia is close. Actually, I am in the kitchen of a rented villa in Seminyak as I write. Just had a Kopi Bali and am off for a latish breakfast! LOL!
It's truly magic place and I attempt to tread lightly when here. There is a certain power in this island that engenders respect, once again tying in to Karma and the intricate belief systems of these people

Actually, I am currently in Bali, where the people, despite much tourism, have a strong Hindu faith. I will not attempt to understand the intricacies of Karma but after numerous visits, have realised that when the people ask you "Where you going?" or "Where have you been?" or "Are you married? No? Why not?" it's not to be nosey but to "place" me in a mystical map of place. They have a deep need to see balance in all things. From seasons to good and evil, to romantic life.
So you can imagine that belief in Karma would be the cement that binds such strong faith.

yesterday i got to ask my kids what they thought of the convention they just had.
response was 'really good'.
daughter liked the drama but could not say why or what the lesson was... so i figure she liked it because it was more interesting than the regular talks.

I have been a youth worker for over 15 yrs and in my experience, example is the best teacher. If you have your life together, are stable and contented, your son will compare your life decisions with the jws he sees in his congregation. When my son was still in, I didn't talk about jws at all, just my life and his. You are spot on in "having his back". When the elders turned nasty, I was there and now he trusts me totally and is old enough to "have my back" as well.
I never wanted to be his mate, just his dad.

I have numerous tatts and I don't care what others think. I put them on my body for me, not to impress others. They are reminders of highlights in my life. A story book if you like.

it's the weekend for my kids to come down and it seems dear old dad just aint that important anymore.... son who now has his licence has left school to work (i found out on facebook) and seems to be too busy, daughter has a party (with j dubs) she wants to go to saturday night.
of course the mother is delighted by this...as they are a two hour drive away it just stuffs up the whole weekend really.
I went through a similar situation 10 yrs ago. The way I see it, if your boy has now got a licence and is working, he may get a wider friend base away from the jws.
That happened with my boy and with so many elders having kids of a similar age, they were just itching for him to put a foot wrong, because he could have been a bad associate(LOL) for their little darlings.
They got him. Ironically, it was his honesty when asked that got him booted out. The other little gutless buggers just lied (to daddy).
Don't know about your daughter though. Mine had the brains to get out before me!

The technology for world wide recording of accurate data has only been around, for what, 20yrs? All those little (and not so little) eartkquakes in Asia and even here in Australia were just facts of life, not recordable incidents. It'a bullshit.
