lately i've been feeling incredibly frustrated by the relationship i have with a few members of my family who aren't attached to the org, or just hanging in by a thread.
my dad is one such person, love him to bits, but he really gives me the sh*ts with his poor me act grrrr.
i just get tired of always being the one who calls, who stays in contact, who visits etc.
I was the first to hold my daughter when she was born, yes even her mum. We have been close ever since. I was a sole parent with her (her choice) and actually left the witnesses at the same time!!
She has just completed 2 degrees and is happily living with a well adjusted male. We live quite a distance apart but are never disconnected from each other. We actually spoke an hour ago. I am not and will never be a dead beat dad.

it seems you always want proof and evidence of some kind of afterlife, but always have a "reasonable explanation" for any evidence put forth.

It's a tough journey for us westerners to get out of our "logical"mindset. Nature often doesn't make sense but flows in a higher pattern. For me, sitting in nature with no particular intent, has opened me to the journey of spiritual realisation, something I could never have understood as a mind/logic focussed jw. From my limited reading and conversation, it seems that this is a kind of shamanic experience has been enjoyed by "primitive"societies for eons.
Just be careful what you dream for as it may come true..
psychoanalyzing the governing body and other high ranking ones from a distance.. i'm interested in some professional opinions on this, what makes these guys tick, what makes them perpetuate a fraud on the rest of jehovah's witnesses?.
i know some can be pretty dogmatic in these areas, lets not try to be, lets look at this thing from many angles.
even if your not a professional give your opinions.
I believe that what drives them is the belief of RIGHTNESS. They have all the ANSWERS to every question. Life, death, how to live, the future and on.
The great questions are all distilled into hokey one liners like, Millions now living will never die!. You can live in paradise on earth. That is why they will not admit mistakes, because it is seen as personal failure. Jws are supposed to be winners not losers. You don't need a degree to figure their framework.
i see some of you have been hurt or feel mislead with the organization.
even if you dont like the organization and choose not to be apart of it, i can see where you come from.
what i dont understand is why some of you take out your frustrations on god.
Considering that jws claim to be gods organisation on earth, your first question has been answered by yourself
its two years since i last attended a meeting or thought of myself as a jw.
despite the prophesys of doom and gloom for those who leave the org i have gained lots and lost nothing.. i have much more time to spend with my husband which has led to our relationship improving fantastically.. i have a better relationship with my children who stopped going to meetings when they were teenagers.. i have become much closer to my family (i've just returned from yorkshire from my great nephews 1st birthday party.
my confidence has grown dramatically as i no longer view myself as worthless.. the guilt of not doing enough has gone.. i now have real friends.. the list goes on, but i really would like to hear what you've gained or hope to gain by leaving the borg.

their methodology is flawed.
selling books and magazines that are rarely read sporadically to people doesn't deliver this message.
Yeah it's kinda weird Crumpet, living out in the bush, middle of nowhere and this call comes trying to sell me a gold visa card or something equally useless....I too just hang up now when I hear that faint crackly line and exceptional english...

I tend to agree. Most people don't have time to read anymore, esp. religious material. Time is precious. Kinda like the cold callers from India, just no time to listen to their blag.
This must be reflecting in jw figures
