Were You Appalled When You First Saw "Life Of Brian"?
by Englishman inthere was so much hoo-hah prior to the films release, that i became ever determined to see it as soon as it hit town!.
the church leaders were up in arms about it, mary whitehouse became almost apoplectic, it was almost the end of civilisation as we knew it!.
well, we duly toddled off to see it.

Films/movies that resonate with Apostates
by Black Man inthere are a few films that i really connect with that sum up my j-dub experiences........ .
shawshank redemption: if you've ever "served time" at bethel, you can't help but connect with this film.
institutionalization, mental persecution and "andy dufrene crossing through 500 yards of shit, came out clean on the other side.

Sorry to hear that Katie. Nerddom is truly international. My sister laments this. She is a successful business woman who travels constantly and can she find a man that can get his nose away from the screen and his big mac that's not gay???

Do you ever have long epic dreams?
by Elsewhere ina few months ago my dr. put me on wellbutrin to help with angziety and depression.
she told me some side effects would be strange dreams and ensomnia.. well... here i am posting about strange dreams at 3:30 am .
what makes these new dreams really stand out is that they are very very long dreams that seem to last forever.

I take no drugs of any sort (except a little alcohol and caffeine) but dream in colour and sometines with smells. It cycles but sometimes I wake exhausted from my adventures. I reckon dreams are a safety valve for stuff going on in the conscious world, so if it gets too much, I lesson my stimulation like caffeine and going out and take a bit of quiet time.

Loved it even as a jw
I saw an interview with Micheal Palin once and he said he was appalled at the reaction to the movie. He said that they were spoofing religious dogma, not christ. That he had the greatest respect for jesus and could'nt see anything funny in the man himself, only what was created in his name....

What's the hardest thing you ever had to do?

The hardest thing by far was when I was a single parent with two kids and my ex wanted custody of my son. She took me to the Family court and the psychologist said if I fought this my son would be adversley affected, better to hand him over. I told her that my ex's new man had a violent record and was dangerous but she was adamant that my boy would be better with his mum.
I was gutted. My daughter was distraught at losing her little brother. I had to decide.
I handed him over. Of course I would see him every few weeks and holidays but it wasn't the same. He became quieter and less communicative. I finally find out that he had been physically assaulted by his stepfather and my ex knew.... We got him charged but its all too late.
I had trouble with the feminist agenda for a few years.
