We had a man die at 112 around these parts.a few years ago. He NEVER wore glasses and was apologetic for using a walking stick for the last two weeks.
Old Frank was one of nature's true gentlemen and he truly died old and satisfied with his days...

Looking for name of a show from when I was a kid: Marionettes flying around in a wooden rocket ship
by Elsewhere inthe other day some friends and i were talking about shows we liked when we were kids.
one show i absolutely loved when i was a kid, but cannot remember the name, was about some kids who would fly around in a tall wooden rocket ship.
the characters were all marionettes on strings and the ship looked like it was cobbled together will bits and pieces of scrap wood with a cone on the top.. i think it aired in the 1970's or 1980's.

Are JW's the only ones imprisoned for their beliefs?
by homeschool ini'm sorry to gadget, who brought up a similar topic & it reminded me of something i was told 2 days ago.
is it true that jw's are the majority of people who are currently imprisoned for their beliefs?
can you give me examples if this is or is not the case?

I look at it this way. The fire brigade is on continual alert for emergency action. You never know when a catastrophie may happen. That is their job but they work in shifts.
There are no fire men/women in the world who work 24/7, as the alertness would lead to anxiety and ultimately exhaustion and depression.
jws have been living in this state of imminent destruction for over 100 yrs. Those who take these "prophecies" seriously must suffer from some form of the above.

I gotta be honest and say that alcohol was my "medication" as jw (hardly drink at all now). It numbed the nagging questions and as Nath says, that "stomach feeling", that this wasn't the truth at all.
And yes repressed sexuality...Man those halls are seething with pent up unexpressed sexuality. Funny looking back at it now with eyes open.
Didn't Freud say sex and power are our base drives?

I have never known a group that has more hypochondria.
Constant searching for health professionals to cure what I now can see are the physical effects of anxiety and depression, or at least a dissatisfaction with their lives.
Especially the women.
