  Grace, and JWs

  im studying a lot nowadays, and am finding the teaching of grace to be really wonderfull.. the idea of god forgiving us so freely, is great.. but ive been trying to remember the jws teachings on it.

  i cant ever remember the word grace being used, much less the idea of this teaching.. speaking for myself, all i remember was a deep sense of guilt.

  along with the thought that god would never allow me to survive armagedon.. did your halls teach grace ?

  ah Grace.....saying the word alone brings so much peace.

  The witnesses never taught grace, they substituted that word for underserved Kindness which steals away the true meaning of God's Grace.

  I'm sure you realise I've left the witnesses and now follow no faith - I worship God in Spriti & Truth. When I started on my new walk - I used to feel so guilty about stuff & asked God to show me His truth and to comfort me - I knew to turn to Romans 6: 12 - 15 and low and behold I read in the NIV "that you no longer fall under the law but are now under Grace"

  By honestly taking Christ into your life-he lives in you and through you - grace flows from him and refreshes your soul everyday - the joy - the relief is an amazing thing. By his grace you are forgiven of past, present and future sins. By grace you are victorious in your walk. By grace you are righteous.

  Now, and this is so truthful..... because of the relief I feel I truly sleep so much better, have more focus in my life, rely on God letting him work through me. I don't worry that I don't know everything because I live by grace.....

  and what would you do to the building if you braught it?.

  i wonder how can that ugly building be the only communication from god to earth?.

  The witness hall in our area is quite pretty, with ample parking space - I'd turn it into a pub/club for ex JW or for JW teenages. I'm sure to make a killing. Happy hour will on Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursday (at the same time they have meetings)

  Sometimes I actually have to force myself to stay true to myself, because Merry as you said we naturally desire to be accepted, but if it goes against me, though I may not like the rejection I cannot go against who I am - This is why after 28 years in the borg and recently having left I have NO FRIENDS - okay their is ONE whole friend. And ja meeting people at pubs/clubs doesn't usually produce the kind of friendships one wants to cultivate.

  i just registered and am so excited about being led to this site!

  so, last night he agreed, at my request, to do some bible study.

  Hi there Sheshe - welcome. You should list exactly what it is you want to find out cos you can get so befuddled that one doesn't make sense.

  First thing - break the trust to the organisation - all JW's look to Brooklyen Bethels' Governing Body as Gods' channal on earth - SHATTER this belief. Show him by their own publications all their lies - especially in their prophesying certain things.....All the dates. Look back into Russells history, where he came from (Adventist & took some christadelphian beliefs) A very good book is Fast Facts on Jehovah Witnesses. Another good book is Jehovah Witnesses: Subject by Subject - the latter book tackles each belief with scriptual backing.

  Once you've broken the trust in them - it's pretty easy to show/reason with soon to be hubby on other things. Things like the 144 000 (if it's a literal number) Is the paradise literal (Rev 19: 1 & 6 says they are before the throne in heaven) The deity of Christ (need to get the greek version of the bible - The word is God) Slowly one by one you can shed the true light.

  paradise earth vs heaven

  i was wondering on many web sites the statement that the jws did not believe in paradise earth until 1935 is found.

  becasue apperently some new light came to rutherford in that year and it was announced at the washington dc convention at that time.

  so why then did rutherford in the 1920s write the book that millions now living will never die and state that the old testament saints (abraham and isacc, ect) would not have and heavenly hopes and would once again live on earth.

  they must have believe in something about an earthly paradise pria to 1935 as they believed that Abraham, Isaac would be risen in 1925 and be the eartly princes - there are some quotes with regards to this in Crisis of consciense - I'll check.

  The 144 000 were sealed in 1935 -

  there after everyone else gets to live on earth - there is a scripture in Matthew that does speak of the heavenly reward as dining with Abraham and Isaac....perhaps it's after the sermon on the mount not too sure. They use scriptures mainly from the Old Testiment for the earthly paradise and then the one at Revelation 21:4 - but something to think on is that in REv 19:1 & 6 it speaks about the great crowd in Heaven....
