Tyler - yeah I agree you should let them know how well you are doing. When one lets go of the guilt - it's a huge break through. That guilt hangs in the back of your mind & just eats a way at ones inner self/joy/contentment silently.

Ignorant Dub Friend Just Don't Get It
by GetBusyLiving inman i spent two and a half hours chatting with a dub friend of mine about how messed up the wtbts is.
i explained to him that i'm agnostic too.
it was soo frustrating, he just couldn't get it.

GBL He's never going to get it, or see your point. It's gotto come from him. You said that if you were a JW & someone gave you that info you'd have done something. Not that I know but I doubt it, because you'd still have had the WT reasoning & would have come up with all their excuses for certain things. But because YOU found your way out - it hit home. And I'm sure that's the same with most of us. Because we found out for ourselves, because we were looking, questioning & had the courage to follow through - enough is enough and you can only go so far.

The "Teachers" of The "Truth"
by minimus infrom what i can see, there are no real teachers left in the organization.
all that's around are manuscript reading speakers that "sound down" whatever crap the organization "unitedly" espouses.
the meetings are dull and boring.....yesterday, i had to bring some medicine to my mother and when i came into her apartment, she was listening to the service meeting via telephone.

And if we as adults felt that way can you just imagine how the poor kids feel. They have to sit & listen for 2 hours keeping still, not fall asleep & act as though they know what is going on. Their info that they were presenting started to truly sound dated, uninspirational, rehashed blurb.

I'm so sick of religion - I don't want to fall under a system of do's and don'ts cos this is what we say. Sorry I had 28 years of that I'm not about to hand myself over like an idiont.

The free masons accept every religion and they all feel that you pray to the same god in the end. However when my grandfather started studying with the witnesses he had to leave the free masons.

Oh I have to chuckle at that heading. Thanks ma.
right so I couldn't open any more posts cos I only get allocated 2 every 24 hours or something like that.
at 1pm Sunday 12th June I'm going for my final JC - My aunt & uncle will be there to bring some new evidence to my trial. When I got the call - though I've been preparing myself for it, my heart started POUNDING so hard. My hands instantly went cold & I felt sick. My Time Has Come.
I've had so many scenes flashing in my head waiting for this...I've pictured myself rebuking them, blessing them, falling apart, my mother suggested flipping them out by washing their feet. You see I can be rather passionate & explosive at times - really lashing out and giving it a full go.
Anyway I'm feeling extremely nervous - can't wait - but extremely nervous.

Field service horror/humor stories.
by sonnyboy inthis has probably been done before, but has anyone had any scary or funny things happen to them during field service?
i used to go door-to-door with the most obnoxious elder in the world.
if we approached a house, saw signs of life, but they didn't answer the door, he'd actually go around and knock on their windows!

a whole lot of us wen on rural work - we'd go for the weekend. Anyway a couple of us girls were bursting for a wee - and there were no loos in the drive-able area (except back at camp) so we find this little ditch and we decide to sit & wee - we look up and there are a whole lot of little black faces peering at us along with some younger brothers - very embaressing....

Does being a JW make a person physically sick?
by Gill indefinitely mentally and more than likely physically.. i have read on a few posts and freeminds about an increase of mental illness amoungst jws of between 2 and 40 % and it seems understandable considering the amount of stress being in the borg puts on people.. but what about physically?.
what are your experiences since leaving the borg?.
do you feel well and fitter than ever before?.

Being in the organisation is like working in what we in S.A call a "sick building" So by just attending work & doing what you have to do is actually causing you to be physically ill becuase the emotional environment is not healthy, the physical environment is not healthy, the ventilation is no good. When collegues get ill everyone comes down with the same thing.
AAAAH I cannot express to you the absolute wonderfulness of not being trapped. Words cannot express what my literal tears of joy can.

New and need a question answered before I post any other questions
by soundbox_guy inokay, first off, let me get this straight...you guys are all witnesses, some all active, some do things all the way right, some don't do things all the way right?
some are by the book but not preachy, and some are witnesses that are rogue and do things their own way?
i just want to know before i post any doubts or concerns or anything because even though i know we're supposed to stay away from places like this on the internet, i don't want what i say somehow getting back to my congregation somehow and next thing you know 4 elders come busting through the door waving "no blood" cards and shouting "freeze, jehovah's witnesses!

Welcome dude. So glad you are no longer part of the borg. It's like the air smells different. You're lighter. You're FREEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!! No more counting time, no more fake smiles, no more back ache from carrying a heavy fieldies bag, no more gossiping, no more......shew it's sounds like Revelation 21:3&4 have been fullfilled.
