New Tracts fill Recycling bins
by Lilycurly ini thought the jws would never visit my appartement bloc...but they finally did.. i came home yesterday night to find one of the new tract folded a few times and inside my mailbox.
i was really excited of course, but a bit dissapointed that i wasn't there to get it directly from them.
i looked around the other boxes, and it seems like the dubs just left one to everyone without even trying to knock.

I looked around the other boxes, and it seems like the dubs just left one to everyone without even trying to knock. (I understand how embarrassed they must be...) I mean, I know some of my neighboors are home all day. But there was a tract in almost every mailbox, some were empty, but there was a big pile of them, crumbled up in the recycling bin in the corner. Such a pleasant sight! It just made me smile to see all of those lying there, unread, with the McDonald coupons and other crap. I stood there looking at the silly pieces of paper, while I clutched mine, and I toyed with the idea of going up to my appartement, crossing the "False religion" part with a black marker and writting "Jehovah's Witnesses" instead, and running back down to tape it on the wall near the mailboxes....
Maybe I'll do it tonight....lol It really made my day, imagining all the people who took one look at the cover, and possibly the Babylon picture inside, laughed out loud and threw it were it belongs.

Did demons ever really rape some sisters?
by hambeak ini had a conversation last night with someone and we were reminescing about the late 60's and early 70's about how a couple of the sisters were telling at the time that they were being molested and sometimes raped by demons.
in our cong they were told to open the bible to a certain scripture and leave the bible open to it at all times and leave a light on.
anyone else remember some of this paranoia?

Weirdly, it seems like this Demon-rape hallucinating always happens to extremely religious people.....and never to Atheists. Why's that?
It seemed to be a very popular story in the medieval times too. Incubus and Succubus and all that crap.

Some very weird mental cases happening inside this cult...perhaps also a strong need for attention.

How do I explain my Jehovah's Witness past to a potential mate?
by The wanderer in<!-- .style1 {font-family: arial, sans-serif} .style2 {font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; } .style4 {font-family: arial, sans-serif; color: #89490c; } .style5 {font-family: arial, sans-serif; color: #848a2a; } .style7 {font-family: arial, sans-serif; color: #89490c; font-size: 14px; } .style8 {font-size: 14px} --> explaining my jehovah's witness past to a potential mate all things considered, this is the one thing that bothers me tremendously.. so much so, that it has kept me out of the dating scene let alone to be.
properly wed. .
captured by an institution called the watchtower bible.

From my limited experience in the dating field...I can tell you that hidding a thing like that is useless.
If you want to get in a meaningful relationship with someone, better be honest and open from the start. When I first started dating, I always made sure to slip the subject of JWs in the conversation as soon as I could. If it bothered them, I would not have wasted more time talking to them. I was very nervous about that, to tell you the truth, like it was a big stigma or something.
But then I realised that everytime I would tell them I used to be a JW, the response would be. "Oh really?...So are you still one?" or "When/Why did you leave?"....and it was followed by an amused discussion about their silly teachings and door-knocking and the evils of cults....Not ONE guy cared that I had been in it. They just wanted to make sure I wasn't still in.
And dating sites are great! Don't let popular opinion keep you away from them. PlentyofFish.com is very funny, so are others. i've met great people from there and I've currently started dating a wonderful guy from an online site. It really opens doors.

Paperback Bible
by PoppyR inmy mum proudly showed me the latest development, a cheap horrible paperback bible, she said how great it was to be able to turn the pages so easily!!
how do the dubs do it?
get people excited over making things cheaper and nastier.

They must encourage JWs to get the paperbacks though, I can't think of another reason why my perfectionist-always-wants-the-best father would have chosen the paperback over the hardcover....I mean, okay, it's the JWs we're talking about, so the excitement and novelty of a anything different must be a big draw....but come on! (I heard they're doing this with the Song book too..they will end up looking as cheap as their suits.)

This week's KM guilt-fest
by StillGroggy infor anybody who attended the service meeting this week (or will this week)
notice the guilt-fest article that mentions not working overtime at work or taking weekend trips and missing the meetings.
ugh, any former witnesses remember looking down on people who went to the beach or took trips frequently on the weekends.

1Tim5:8 NIV
If anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for his immediate family, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever
Aaaaah! So *that's* why when he is faced by his family or other people about shunning me...my father always makes a huge point of saying he will always be there to help me financialy if ever I need it! And I thought it was just guilty conscience...
No, he's scared of being "worse than an unbeleiver.". Hehehe, what he doesn't know, is that he would probably be the last person I would crawl to for money if I needed it. Honestly, I do have some self-respect.

WOAH! ButtLight--Is that a genuine painting? Not photoshoped? It's so strange...and there's even the little men standing there and watching it.
I'm surprised Dan Brown hasn't come up with a religious-alien theory novel yet.

Is the WTS changing positions on the croos vs. stake?
by whyizit inmy husband was listening to a radio station the other day and said there was news that the wts has decided that jesus dying on a cross rather than a stake may not be as far-fetched as they once thought.. have any of you heard this?
i have been cruising the threads to see if there was already one on this subject.
if there is, point me to it!

One single picture that makes you think
by Lilycurly inokay...following yesterday's post and all the great ideas you had.
we are now seriously considering sending a da letter that would resume to one simple phrase like:.
"for more then ten years now, i am assured that the jehovah's witnesses do not have the truth.
