God is a woman! In fact, it's looking quite like Alanis Morissette. Haven't you seen Dogma?!

GOD, Who Is He and Why?
by RevFrank ingod; who is he
since the age of 15 i wanted to know who was god and why he was who he was.
and since that day i've come to understand this, god is who he is because he is life.. i've come to understand him as the creator of all.

I was reading a post today about the kingdom songs we sang as JW's.
by booker-t ini was thinking about the kingdom songs we sang as jw's and was wondering about you posters out there that are ex-jw's or still jw's what was you all time favorite "kingdom song" or what was you all time horrible song that we sang from both songbooks (1966 songbook or the later songbook made in 1984 sing praises to jehovah.
my favorite song was song #119 in the 1966 songbook "keep your eyes on the prize".
i like this song because it made me feel that armaggeddon was coming fast and the "new system" would be here to give me the prize.

LOL, such great memories!
I remember one of the elders always asked people to pay attention to the lyrics as they sang, and he repeated it everytime he was presenting a song. Make sure the brain gets washed toroughly.lol Yes, there was always one or two people who sang very loud and/or very off-key. Or those teenage boys that keep trying to sing but make weird squicky noises.
My father was always giving the dirty eye to a group of teenagers who pretended to sing but just moved their lips, they also couldn't stop giggling...and when they did sing, they did very soflty and changed words to fit their minds. I'm pretty sure they are not still JWs today.lol

Overactive Celebrating
by searching4? ini have found that since i was denied celebrating holidays as a child, i am like a kid when it comes to celebrating.
the holidays are so magical to me, and i always celebrate in a big way for all of them.
it's still new to me and i have so much fun with it.

Of course! I love to make-up for every Christmas tree, carven pumpkin and birthday gifts I missed as a kid.:) The great thing is, I work at a daycare center, so I can do all those holiday drawings and craft projects I was denied with the kids there. I also make sure both my brothers (whom my dad is trying to endoctrinate) receive birthday and christmas presents and participate in any way possible in those fun days. They never refuse, so it's a good sign, and at least they won't be bitter about it when they grow up.

We had one or two pretty rich families in our KH, big houses, big cars....of course the fathers were elders and their kids were early baptized/pionner/assistants, etc.
Most of the others were middle class, including us...and then there were a few poor - to very poor families and people who it looked like they were there just to be accepted and helped by a group.

How the Internet Means 'The End' for Apostates and Opposers of the Society
by slimboyfat inthe received wisdom is that the internet has dramatically damaged the ability of the watchtower society to gain and retain followers.
there was a very eloquent article to that effect written some time ago by a commentator who attempted to buttress his argument with reference to the postmodern condition and the breakdown of metanarratives in todays secular society, nay, even the come-back for enlightenment notions of truth.
in the 1970/80s there were major challenges to the watchtowers theology (great crowd in heaven) and chronology (1914) in norway, alberta canada, dublin ireland and in the newyork bethel itself: but the damage caused by those involved in the dissent was limited because knowledge was dispersed merely through personal contact and minimal use of obscure publications that seldom met the eyes of witnesses innocent of the watchtowers doctrinal and chronological vacillations in any case.

*Currently having thoughts of printing said bumber sticker and sneak around the KH's parking lot during a meeting, sticking them away.lol Or maybe just on the back of an elder's car...for more subtil effect.*

Baptism is defenitly on the decline...I can even see it from my former congo. There has been much more DFing and DAing in the last years and much less baptisms...hardly any, in fact. And mostly, they are kids who can't wait to proove how spiritual they are. And the ones who come out? Many teenagers who got dunked at 12 and were the pride of their parents...lol

Am I over reacting?
by lola28 inmy sisters came home yesterday and said someone was following them home from school, they got very scared and ran the rest of the way home.
they also told me that these two men had also followed one of their friends home a few days ago.
should i call the school and report it or should i call the police station?

I'm not sure...how old are they? I would maybe try walking with them to see for yourself . And if you notice something unusual...perhaps call the police and have them look up that street...

Well, all we need to do then, is create more trouble, share our doubts and info and not just roam around web sites. That's what I've been trying to do anyway..those who have family menbers and friends in the cult will always be trying new and creative ways to pass the word. Sure it takes a bit of time, but in my opinion, it's totally worth it.

Who knows...perhaps they already are. Maybe the numbers are way more drastic and they fill the corners a bit...just like we did when we filled up our monthly reports...lol

Yes...I know what you mean, my dad lives 10 minutes away from my appartment, and when I had just faded out (a very abrupt fading, but the point is I was not DAd or DFd. Well, that year, my father saw the Christmas tree with all it's lights in the corner of my living room. And he asked me later if it was me or my sister who decided to put it up....I said we BOTH did. The strange thing is, from that point, he just looked dissapointed, but even if he knew I was celebrating (thus should be DFd) he still continued talking to me.
