Was Judas present for the passing of the emblems?

memorial is this tuesday.

while explaining the significance of consuming the booze and bread it is quite likely the speaker is going to make a passing remark about how jesus made sure that judas would not be present to partake.. of course he won't explain his reason for saying that.

but here is some food for thought while you're stuck sitting there listening to it:.

No. There is probably no part of the story that is true. The concept is essentially borrowed from older god-man myths.

Even if some guy named Jesus sat around for a meal with a few mates, they still didn't eat and drink 'emblems'.

Also, out of the four gospel accounts only the book of John mentions Judas leaving during the evening at all.

Despite some efforts by apologists to reconcile the 'gospels', they are a mess. And John is the least consistent of the lot.

Unbelievable Experience in Yearbook

a number of years back i heard a story of a young girl in a congregation ( i have some good friends in this hall ) who had an amazing field service experience.

it was so amazing that it was retold in the 2007 yearbook!.

it is retold in the highlight of the past year section.

Daniel 2:33,34,44,45 scripturally proves the Kingdom was not established in 1914!

notice that in daniel 2:44,45, the setting up of the kingdom is synonymous with the stone crushing the image.

verse 44 talks about the kingdom crushing when it is set up, and verse 45 talks about the feet being crushed by the stone.

I was rather hoping someone would comment on my argument per se, on its merits.

Your conclusion about the JW doctrine is reasonable enough. But, the JW doctrine is just plain wrong anyway.

Their interpretation boils down to GIGO.

It's therefore logical to conclude that the kingdom is set up when the stone (representing the kingdom) strikes the image in the feet and crushes the image entirely, not before, not after.

There's nothing particularly logical about believing that a story written thousands of years ago about a Jewish perspective of long-dead Greeks has anything at all to do with a fictional deity doing anything in the modern era via superstitious numerology based on a false starting date.

It's helpful to remember a couple of points when considering these new changes in JW beliefs about the 'faithful slave':

their old belief was entirely wrong, and based on flawed superstitious numerology

Need a quote about society answering questions

sorry to post so many topics lately.

trying to get some info for a project.. i'm after some quotes from watchtower that brag how the watchtower society answers any questions jw's have and how christondom don't (or it doesn't have to have the christendom part in it).

any help appreciated.

But, on issues of their errors when I've written, I get no response.

Based on the drivel with which you flood this forum (and other Internet fora), there's little surprise that the Watch Tower Society doesn't reply to your 'corrections'.

But most of what you've said in this post is accurate in regard to how both the JW leadership and JWs in general respond to questions.

Their answers don't have to (and usually just don't) make sense, because they apparently (and quite wrongly) feel that an answer is necessarily better than no answer, and if they decide something entirely different later on, well that's 'true' too.
