There's a political quiz online that helps to get a sense of which of the parties (I think it just covers Liberal, Labor and Greens) best align with your own priorities.

Aust. Election in 1 week - A review of Kevin Rudd, PM
by fulltimestudent ini'm still determined not to vote - just to write something unpleasant about pollies on the ballot paper.
if i lived in victoria, i just may, as an act of sheer bastardry, vote for julian assange (of wikileaks fame), but i don't live in vic, so i cant.. my objection to voting is that the political choice offers two self-perpetuating oligarchies (who are something like the governing body).
they make up a slate of candidates and election advertising consists of attempting to persuade swinging voters to vote for their slate of candidates.. anyway, i noted that k.rudd has made a video in chinese, aimed apparently at mainland china.

Julia Orwell:
Then I told an elder about it and he laughed and said it was an old trick, whereby the buildup of heat in the glass from the warm water, which couldn't escape out from under the rim because of the seal caused by the suds, was what moved the glass. An old prank!
No, that's ridiculous. It was definitely demonses.

There was a JW elder in Perth, Western Australia, whose (adult) son used to play Tomb Raider.
One day the son received a frantic phone call from the father because he inserted the Watchtower Library CD, and the icon for Tomb Raider showed up for the CD-ROM drive instead*.
*It was on Windows 98, which had a notoriously unreliable icon cache. He was convinced that the game had allowed demons to possess the computer.

If you want to stick it to Liberal, tony Abbott or Labour Kevin Rudd then vote for Clive Palmer United Australia Party, he`s offering pensioners an increase of $150.00 per f/n as a livable amount to get by on.He is also a successful business man who is now a billionaire. just saying, smiddy
Clive Palmer's policies (using the term loosely) are primarily for the benefit of one person. Clive Palmer. Still better than Tony Abbot though.
Rudd's a bit of a narcissist but not as bad as Abbott by a long shot. Abbott is telling all the same lies Campbell Newman told.
Maybe I'll vote for the Greens.

Funny demon conversation
by problemaddict inminimus inspired me to recall a crazy conversation i had with a houseguest at my home while i was one of jw's and even serving.
i had a houseguest say that she couldn't sleep all night, and then she found a birthday card in her friends room that someone at work gave her innocently enough.
she burned it and said she could finally sleep.. i asked her if she knew how long ago her friends birthday was?

(my sister speaks up). I've had bad dreams.
...
(my wife speaks up) I've had bad dreams too.Other people have had bad dreams. 'Obviously' demons.
But that doesn't even connect with the original claim by the other person that:
she couldn't sleep all night
There's any number of reasons why a person might have difficulty sleeping, especially in an unfamiliar room.

by RayPublisher inokay people i have a new video that some of you may be interested in- i believe it is the only one of its kind online.
three elders meet with a young female that knows ttatt and is trying to get back into the jws for family reasons.
the audio also includes the three elders disagreeing and deliberating after she is dismissed from the room and then when they call her back in.

New Flock Book - Child Abusers NOT excluded from serving again
by allelsefails in"shepherd the flock" book - page 38 - chapter 3 par.20 ........ (talking about disqualifying servants and elders) 20. if the sin occurred before he was appointed as an elder or a ministerial servant, the elders will need to take into consideration the fact that he should have mentioned this possible impediment to his being qualified when elders interviewed him just prior to announcing his appointment.
moreover, the nature of the sin may reflect greatly on his qualifications to serve.
for example, the sin may involve past child abuse, and this would likely disqualify him for many years.-w97 1/1 pp.

As far as I am aware (and I have only stopped going a few months ago) there has never been any revised or completely new addition to the "should you believe in the trinity" brochure.
Both the linked PDF provided in this thread and the version on the Watchtower Library on CD-ROM state that it is the "2006 printing". The newer printing has the following differences to the original 1989 printing (as provided in the 2004 Watchtower Library).
Page 7: The newer version deletes a claim that Clement of Alexandria "called Jesus in his prehuman existence “a creature”"
The following mundane changes are also made to the digital version that do not affect the printed editions:
- The older version doesn't include the 'Title page', 'Publishers' page' or 'Foreword' in the CD's chapter index
- The initial questions have been moved from the first chapter to the 'Foreword'
- The note about the NWT is moved from the first chapter to the 'Publishers' page'
- In the old version, spaces between words formatted as bold or italic are not similarly formatted.
- Some spaces (mainly within scripture references) have been changed to non-breaking spaces.
- Some hyphens have been changed to non-breaking hyphens.
- Accent marks in Hebrew transliterations have been replaced with visually similar characters that do not alter the meaning.
- Some Greek characters with diacritics have been replaced with similar characters that do not alter the meaning.

Free today - the book I wish I'd found when I was getting out of JWs.
by AngusOg init's called quitting jehovah's witnesses & other cults: how to do it & why you should, and i hope you'll check it out.
i wrote it because other books seemed to focus on personal experiences (boring, irrelevant) or doctrinal discussion of why i should convert to some other religion (boring, irrelevant and insulting).
anyway, it's an ebook, it's free, and it's out today..

It is what it is. I don't personally feel that my book, or any book, is going to convert someone who is happy. On the other hand, so many JWs are actually miserable—I certainly was. So, I wrote the book I wish I'd come across in the time when I was miserable.
Yeah, fair enough. That certainly is a valid target demographic. Particularly for 'born-ins' who were never really given an option.
