Snow in the Bible, say what.

Also from the age of 40 to 80 Moses lived with his wife's family near Mount Horeb (Sinai) where it snows.

There's no evidence that Moses existed or that the Jews were slaves in Egypt. The 'Exodus' story is a re-write of older Ethiopian stories and other myths. Like the other books attributed to Moses, 'Exodus' was written in the 6th century BCE. It's self-evident that the authors were familiar with snow, and not remarkable given that people would have at least seen snow-peaked mountains from a distance, and heard about snow through traders, even if they had not themselves experienced snowfalls.

i came across this video ... and watched it ... why?

i don't know really, but i found it intersting.. especially interesting was how these men used the bible, they knew their message, they used an actual hard copy bible that has obviously been studied, and the older jw man, well, he was using a tablet.

it seemed cumbersome compared to using the actual bible.

The placement of the Nimrod character in the obviously mythical Genesis clearly designates Nimrod as another mythical character. The tale of 'God confusing languages' is also obviously a myth intended to 'explain' the variety of human languages at the time of writing.

Noah obviously never really existed. But even in the Bible there's no reference to him preaching for 40 years (or for any specific period of time). There's not even any mention of him preaching about the flood at all.

2 Peter 2:5 claims Noah was purportedly 'saved' because he was a 'preacher of righteousness', not that preaching was a response to an impending flood.

tomorrow will be exactly 100 years since his historic announcment.. to commemorate this centennial occasion, i will gladly take bets in any amount of money that the world will not end tomorrow and that on friday, october 3rd, 2014 gmt, we will still all be here, for better or worse.. any die-hard jws interested in taking the other side of this friendly little wager?

still hoping the big "a" is coming tomorrow and your loving god, jehovah, is going to commit mass genocide and execute 99.9% of earth's population because they don't follow the dictates the 7 members of the "faithful and discreet slave," aka, the governing body of jehovah's witnesses?.

Yes, it was a direct quote from what you'd written in your comments about paragraph 10. And yes, I did understand the context you meant it in. I was simply elaborating on the alleged significance attributed to it by JWs.

I didn't mean to suggest that nothing in the Daily Mail is ever correct.

But it is renowned for tabloid nonsense, so as a rule of thumb, it should never be the first source you provide.

You really should skip straight to legitimate sources in the first instance.

October 1914 was a significant date...

Except... it wasn't. Nothing remarkable happened in October of 1914. The 'Bible Students' were supposedly waiting for Armageddon to 'break out' with "suddenness and great force" in or after October of 1914. No sudden 'woe' was precipitated by events 'in heaven' starting in October 1914. Not only did it not happen, but by mid-1914 it had already become impossible for such a thing to happen suddenly in October. World War I had already begun, which was itself basically a continuation of the Balkan Wars of 1912-1913. Funnily enough, though the Watch Tower Society has published articles about a lot of different wars, it has not even mentioned the Balkan Wars in living memory, instead claiming that World War I was a 'surprise', all the while quietly ignoring that WWI itself started too early.
