Several months of the ‘service year’ (started September 2019) were unaffected by COVID, so ‘peak publishers’ can be used as a relative comparison to the previous year. (However, ‘peak publishers’ is not a reliable indicator for absolute numbers as their method allows for people who submit late reports to be counted twice in a given month.)

Drearyweather (quoting The Watchtower):
During the last days, Jehovah has continued to select those who will make up the 144,000. If he chooses to wait until late into that period to select some for that privilege, who are we to question his wisdom?
😂🤣😂😆It does indeed attempt to justify the continued increase (which resulted in a subsequent 18.7% increase in partakers in that year). However, I do not believe it was their intent to suggest that the number should be increasing beyond trying to justify the increase observed. For example, the same article does once again suggest that the increase in partakers could be because "Others may have mental or emotional problems that lead them to believe that they will rule with Christ in heaven".

Drearyweather:
The number of partakers won't get impacted by COVID.
True, but that's not really the point. The number or 'partakers' is 'meant' to be decreasing irrespective of COVID.

21,182.
It is on their 'Grand Totals' page, which is separate to the countries list on the website. It is on page 2 of the PDF version of the 2020 Service Report.

Drearyweather:
Memoril figures suffered greatly in areas where people from villages (like India) couldn't attend the digital session, neither was there any broadcast.
And yet they've reported the highest number of 'partakers' since 1951.

Events of 2020 may certainly contribute to some of the decreases. Yet partakers at the 'Memorial', the one figure that's 'meant' to go down, has still had an increase of more than 3%.

Maths Virus 1914
by Anna Marina inthis is my latest video.
it is part 1 of a series that reveals the mathematical trickery watchtower uses to con people about the 1914 doctrine.
it takes a radically different approach to that of carl olof jonsson who dealt with dates.. this video focusses on how watchtower misuses the numbers in scriptures and creates a mental fog that prevents people from understanding and therefore prevents them from challenging.. the full title of the video is maths virus - revealing the antivirus to 1914. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=llkmrul3afg.

Anna Marina:
The key point you need to know about the 18th year of Nebuchadnezzar's rulership is that it is preceeeded by his 17th year of rulership and is followed by his 19th year of rulership.
Thanks for that ‘revelation’ 😂. I’m not missing any point at all. I’m well aware of the relative and absolute chronology of the period. I think there may be some merit in your simplified approach as a starting point or for those who only want to know the basics. The ‘just wait to be amazed” rhetoric is a little bit tedious though.
If someone offered a chemistry class and said, “You don’t need to know all that complex chemistry stuff. You just need to know that water has two simple ingredients. Stay tuned for when I tell you one of them next week”, I’m just not sure I’d be getting much value from the class.
