The claim that ‘you can’t ban a book if its copyright has expired’ is nonsensical. Various governments have banned books that either predate the concept of copyright or whose copyright has expired. However, the Seuss books in question in this thread haven’t actually been banned but are no longer published. A copyright owner discontinuing its own works is not a ‘ban’.

No. You know they’re fictional, right? Hard to be sure at this point.

It’s Seuss’ estate that has ceased publication of the 6 titles rather than just some third party publisher (or government). It’s not clear why they couldn’t just reissue the titles with updated illustrations to replace the ‘offensive’ ones though. But they own the rights, so they can do whatever they like with them for any reason or for no reason. I haven’t read these particular masterpieces but am familiar with other famous Seuss titles, and I’m not sure that these books qualify as the greatest literature of all time.
eBay jumping on the bandwagon is just stupid.
The concern, right or wrong, is evidently about how people are portrayed specifically to children. The ‘loony left’ hasn’t ‘banned’ Mein Kampf because it isn’t used in school curricula. Titles such as Huckleberry Finn have been removed from student reading lists in various places rather than categorically banned from publication. Books such as the Harry Potter series have been banned in various religious ‘right wing’ schools in the US too so ‘banning’ books for children is not exclusive to the left.
Recent blacklisting of movies and TV shows (particularly where the target audience are adults) is nonsensical to me, whether it’s for their content or because an actor in the program said something stupid on ‘Twitter’ (maybe ban that cesspit instead). JarJar Binks should definitely be banned though. Nothing to do with racism, he’s just really really annoying (and probably a Sith).

Are Jehovah’s Witnesses Wrong Regarding Staying Out of Politics?
by minimus inwe were told we were part of the world if we got involved in politics.
if we had employment that had political involvement we were instructed to get another job.
we were told we might be considered disassociated if we voted and then it became questionable.

minimus:Are Jehovah’s Witnesses Wrong Regarding Staying Out of Politics?
Short answer, yes. Long answer, if individuals are not interested in politics and don't want to be at least aware, that's up them (though not a position I recommend). But it is fundamentally wrong for people to be told not to have political opinions, particularly on issues that directly affect them. -

Not so much. Aside from the reference being quite dated, mixing up the names Jeffro and Jethro just makes you look dumb. -

Come on, that’s not even good ad hominem. If a personal attack is your best argument, at least say something clever.

It’s not my problem that you still don’t understand the subscription basis for the training content. If you want to imagine they reviewed all 16,700 courses available from the provider (with new courses regularly added) including the 270 related to ‘diversity’, that’s your own issue.
As to your nonsense about ‘calling you a liar’, making an assertion without evidence is just foolish, not necessarily dishonest.

When did I say that? ‘There is no evidence for x’ is not the same thing as ‘x definitely didn’t happen’. But it remains the case that it is highly unlikely that management scrutinised all 270 courses about ‘diversity’. -

Repeating a lie over and over again doesn’t make it true.
LinkedIn Learning has over 16,000 courses including 270 on ‘diversity’. It is laughable to think management scrutinised every course available from the provider.
But instead of bothering to consider any facts, some just prefer the most sensationalist position.

What do you think of these two?
I don’t.
