You ask this question because you assume that only physical and tangible things are real, ignoring the fact that a person's mind and emotions are just as real as their flesh and blood. The concept of Jesus has nothing to do with a physical man that may have been independently verified by other people or not.

A tedious false equivalence. The problem (for the apologist) is that “mind and emotions” are contingent on ‘flesh and blood’ and can’t be demonstrated to exist independently of them. So the claim that Jesus “has nothing to do with a physical man” only further demonstrates that it is a delusion.

About a year ago, when someone said Watchtower would fall because Jesus is tearing it down at Jehovah's command, no one believed it.

Anyone would be stupid to believe that. Watchtower hasn’t ‘fallen’ and even if it were to, it would be irrational to attribute it to something that hasn’t been demonstrated to exist.

Can anyone identify the last time WT affirmed the literal 144,000 teaching in print or in broadcast?

The Watchtower, May 2024, page 7:

A limited number, 144,000 in all, of Christ’s faithful followers will receive a resurrection to immortal life in heaven.

It isn't new that they make a distinction between the number of 'partakers' and the 'actual' anointed people, though there is no method of verification because it's superstitious nonsense.

No. That's a tedious reflection of your own belief that the 'threat' is 'truth' (though entirely unsubstantiated). It is not actually that the person feels threatened, but they have remarked about the intent of the superstitious threat.

Notice this common apologist tactic… personalise the issue and falsely imply that some novel interpretation is being asserted. Back in reality, the fact that the book of Daniel is about the Maccabean period is the mainstream view in biblical scholarship.

Of course. Christianity didn’t start in a vacuum. But the key word is ‘reinterpreted’. When the original apocalyptic hopes in Daniel failed after the Maccabean period, it was reinterpreted. Just as Christians reinterpreted their end times beliefs after Jesus didn’t return within a generation.

On the contrary, the same Hebrew term is translated ‘corrupted’ in various verses. It’s unremarkable that Christian translators render that particular verse in a way that favours a Christian interpretation though.

By the way, none of the Bible translators agree with you in this instance.

Wrong as usual. Young’s Literal Translation does not say the city would be destroyed at Daniel 9:26.
