is there any independently verified evidence that a miracle worker called jesus existed and did the things that the bible said he did?.
the four gospels were written by unknown authors many decades after the so called events, so can't be considered as eyewitness accounts.

Halcon:
You ask this question because you assume that only physical and tangible things are real, ignoring the fact that a person's mind and emotions are just as real as their flesh and blood. The concept of Jesus has nothing to do with a physical man that may have been independently verified by other people or not.
A tedious false equivalence. The problem (for the apologist) is that āmind and emotionsā are contingent on āflesh and bloodā and canāt be demonstrated to exist independently of them. So the claim that Jesus āhas nothing to do with a physical manā only further demonstrates that it is a delusion.

About a year ago, when someone said Watchtower would fall because Jesus is tearing it down at Jehovah's command, no one believed it.
Anyone would be stupid to believe that. Watchtower hasnāt āfallenā and even if it were to, it would be irrational to attribute it to something that hasnāt been demonstrated to exist.
say it aināt so!
.
in one sense itās a no brainer because the figures just donāt add up any more.. in another (negative) sense itās a no brainer because itās been fundamental to jws since year dot and might undermine the whole thing?
Rumour 144,000 literal number teaching to be abandoned at Annual MeetingWhere do you get this stuff?
Can anyone identify the last time WT affirmed the literal 144,000 teaching in print or in broadcast?
The Watchtower, May 2024, page 7:
A limited number, 144,000 in all, of Christās faithful followers will receive a resurrection to immortal life in heaven. It isn't new that they make a distinction between the number of 'partakers' and the 'actual' anointed people, though there is no method of verification because it's superstitious nonsense.

If a person feels threatened by truth, it's because that "threatened" person's conscience is bothering them.
No. That's a tedious reflection of your own belief that the 'threat' is 'truth' (though entirely unsubstantiated). It is not actually that the person feels threatened, but they have remarked about the intent of the superstitious threat.

Playing with words constantly.
Hmmm... ok...
For if a person called Jesus Christ didn't exist at one stage
So... smuggling in the superstitious concept of 'Christ' into the mundane fact that there was probably a Galilean preacher named Jesus (or at least an Aramaic form) isn't 'playing with words'?

Jeffro, it's a case of the pot is calling the kettle black. I have clearly demonstrated your irrationality by you insinuating "destroy" means "corrupt," in order for you to fit it into your brand of theology.
Notice this common apologist tacticā¦ personalise the issue and falsely imply that some novel interpretation is being asserted. Back in reality, the fact that the book of Daniel is about the Maccabean period is the mainstream view in biblical scholarship.

The last section of book of Daniel was reinterpreted as referring to Rome prior to Christian usage.
Of course. Christianity didnāt start in a vacuum. But the key word is āreinterpretedā. When the original apocalyptic hopes in Daniel failed after the Maccabean period, it was reinterpreted. Just as Christians reinterpreted their end times beliefs after Jesus didnāt return within a generation.
