Ever hear an experience at an assembly that you KNOW was slanted?
by Bonnie_Clyde ini remember one at a district assembly.
a brother was being interviewed as to why he never chose over time work at his job.
he said he worked for a small printing company and that he was content with working regular hours.

In the 1970s a family attended the DC in a far away city, they had a bus that broke down. Many helped fix it at the convention. They told the story that their home had just burned down the night before but they left for the DC anyway trusting in Jehovah. It was printed in the WT in a study article as what a great example of trust in Jehovah. The fact is It was not true that house had burned down quite awhile before they even thought of leaving. And they were not spiritual giants. But the story made for good reading and allowed RF to beleive what a God Jehovah is and he protects his people. Total lie in the Watchtower.

I must tell you that I think it did. However years later I was requested to take a Dale Carnagie course. I do not know who copied from whom but in many many ways they are identical. I wish I had skipped it all and just taken Dale Carnagie. But Blondie is right there are many bad speakers in the society and they will never get too much better. I think that you need some smarts to begin with. What is the saying " you cant make a silk purse out of a sows ear"

How did you handle the medical directive this year
by Billzfan23 inif you are a "fader" like me, how did you handle the medical directive this year?
we have a book study overseer (i am a fader) who insisted that everyone be present together and display their own completed medical directive.
did you faders out there not even fill one out, did you fill it out and throw it away, or do you carry yours and hope you never have to use it?

I filled it out. But in the boxes I checked I may be willing to accept certain treatments, and that I will have to be consulted with prior to making any decisions. I figure that if I am conscious I can tell the doctors anything that I want and say that I am to be left alone .

I miss the 70's because it was a time when I had the opportunity to decide if I wanted to be a JW or not. Obviously I made the decision to become one. I regret that decision now but it is too late in my life all family is firmly entrenched and looks like most will never turn away. Anyway I would not have met my lovely wife had I not been a JWthat is a good point. On the other hand I never raised a family because of the Watchtower and my decision to pioneer and wait until the new system! How I regret that decision now. All of the ones that I know in raised their families while we sat by thinking that we were so righteous. What a crock! Sorry to sound so bitter I really am not but it would have been nice to have had the opportunity. Anyway I will make the best of what life I have left. By the way
Watchtower I hate you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Really nice men to have leading an organization on the local level. How would he feel if it were one of his children he was so Fippant about. What a jerk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What I have come to see is that there are all types of individuals on this earth. That is just the kind of leader I would not be like and was sick of and stepped down because of.

This persons website was what got me thinking. I had searched and searched to try and prove 607 when I saw this material and the letters from the Watchtower I knew that they were wrong. I am still trying to get my wife to research it but so far she is totally against it. She beleives that if the society/ GB are wrong they will pay with their lives at armageddon. I really think that like so many others she is afraid of learning the truth and will lose everything that she has known. I am trying to patiently wait but beleive me it is agonizing. As for me I will continue to help her but I will never again be held captive to man. I only hope that the issues in the courts will do signifigant damage to the society. Lurker

All elders know what is going on in the congregation. They are gathered together when there is a problem to discuss who will handle the matter. So it is very easy for anything to get out. I myself rarely told my wife any real confidential matters except for the last couple of years, she knew I was fed up and stressed out and would ask what she could do to help. Now that is not a problem Free at last!
