  How much of a man are you? Problems with rats, I just can't do it

  last summer, i noticed a rat living underneath my shed in the back garden.

  i tried my hardest to convince my female counterpart that we had a rat living with us, but as usual was met with a wall of silence.

  so time passed and i didn't see rodney the rat again, so i just figured that he had gone away some place else.

  Since escaping the realm of the Bible (and JW's) I have been a lot more tolerant of wildlife. In fact I find myself avoiding ants on the sidewalk as I walk to my car from work. I don't know, the universe is immense. Who is to say reincarnation is not reality, or that animals were once souls of a higher form? These days I look towards getting rid of pesky creatures through no life ending means. Either ultrasound, or planting of certain herbs/flowers to repel insects or rodents, etc.

  I hate to rule out that one day I might be living life again, but as a rat...

  JW's been printing the watchtower since 1879?!

  i browsed a mag this weekend, almost puked, but noticed that they changed the verbage inside the front cover.

  talks about how jehovahs witnesses have been printing the watchtower since 1879. i though they were called ibs back then?

  i also thought it was called zion's watch tower and herald of christ's presence back then?

  Interesting, I wonder when they will discover something about the ministry of Jesus and the apostles to prove that they were real historical persons contrary to what secular historians believe. There must be something hiding somewhere in Israel.

  Probably never. Because they more than likely did not exist in the manner the Bible describes them. The bible is a wonderfull melding of fiction and non fiction, to the point that you cannot tell when one ends and the other begins. It would be akin to saying:

  So by writing true events, interwoven with mythic people or expounding on a real person (ie son of god) it sounds like truth, right? Where is the proof that BillyBob was actually born in Dallas America, if America burns to the ground 40 years later and all birth records conveinently go up in flames? Other sources of history record a President named Bush and a country named America and a city named Dallas - but have no records of BillyBob existing. Yet milleniums later you can fill in the blanks and get people to believe whatever you want...

  IVP willing I hope to go to colledge later this year.

  what is it like by the way i will be attending community colledge in a hope of going to a unversity.

  i am kind of old for it but i am tired of hearing how stupid i am.. i am deffinately taking foreign languages several i want to learn.. probaly will be taking it courses maybe accounting and some engineering.

  i almost don't care just want a degree..

  Good luck! I'm sure it will be a wonderful experience for you. I think IT is a good field to go into, because computers aren't going anywhere soon.

  Stay focused, have fun, meet lots of new people, and just enjoy the experience!

  Unfortunately, with outsourcing they may not be entirely true. India sounds like a nice place to live Actually, with tech jobs the suggestion now is to get a minor in business.

  well, i grabed the pile of shit watchtower mags my wife has been bringing home and decided to look through a few since i had some down time this weekend.

  i haven't read one in years... jesus christ i almost vomited!!!!

Jesus Christ I almost vomited!!!! I cannot believe the shit they write! A few articles talked bad about education and gave shinning examples of young people who shit canned their schooling to become a book peddler. One magazine shows a couple (with child) planting vegetation in the garden, but they all wore dress clothing, WTF!?!? I don't know anyone who gets dirty wearing slacks and a dress shirt, or the woman wearing a dress? Another article talked about raising children, like these single virgin writing dept brothers know ANYTHING about that! THEN they had an article about "hooking up" (thats the verbage used in the article), once again I'm like WTF?! Where do they get this shit from? That article basically talked about how EVERY young male in highschool wants to get into a sisters panties, unbelievable and sad... It was WAT TOO MUCH and I felt vomit coming up, I had to put the Satanic books down before they possessed me...

  You are never too old. Hell I'm in my thirties and have been going to school for close to eight years now, between married life and working fulltime. Should be down in the next few months. I have classmates at uni who are 50 years old or older - never too old to learn something new...

  Towards the end I never put up with the seat saving BULL SHIT!!!! If I got there and no seats could be found and it was appearent that only one person was sitting in a row, and when asked said all the other seats were saved, I basically told them to go fuck themselves and that seat saving was against Mothers rules. Should have seen the face on a few people. Then when their family showed up 1 hour after the goddamn convention started it was even funnier to see them split up to be seated. I say fuck 'um all. I showed up on time only to have these pencil neck cocksuckers to get there early, save a seat, and go back home to either get ready or go back to sleep? I think not!!!

  "no smoking".... it defiles your body and goes against scripture.. so as a witness, when pushing this train of thought, did it ever occur to anyone that when ever you dug in to those fried eggs, bacon cheeseburgers, and gallons of icecream, you were doing the same exact thing?.

  smoking over a long period of time can kill you.

  eating artery congesting foods over a long period of time can kill you.

  One characteristic of the org. is judging others and condemning them. Sometimes we carry that negative habit with us right out of the organization. If YOU smoke or overeat, you deal with your problem. Leave everyone else alone. It's hard enough to try to overcome those problems without being called a hypocrite. Smoking is addictive and very hard to overcome. The fact that overweight people go on many diets in their lifetimes, and still gain the weight back shows that food addiction is extremely hard to overcome too. Let's all cut everyone some slack and hope they do the same for us.

  I disagree. I've smoked for a while now, and really only smoke a cig or two a month - no desire to do more. I believe it becomes a crutch for most people which induces a psychological addiction. In fact recent studies have concluded that Nicotine is very beneficial and actually helps increase neuron firing in the brain, which in turns helps with memory retention. The article concluded that nicotine gum is beneficial and no more addictive than caffeine. I have tried the gum and cigs and can attest that I am not addicted...

  I've soooooo had it

  this should be a proud and happy time in my life as a mom.

  :( on top of everything else in my life these days...im in the process of planning a sweet sixteen party for my little girl for may 12, and my oldest son graduates from high school on may 18 followed by a party i am trying to have for him on may 26 followed by my daughter's four dance company recitals the weekend of june 1. also my youngest sons birthday is this sunday..... so...i spent days designing and mailing out gorgeous graduation invitations to everybody i know and all our wacked relatives.

  i wrote to the jws in advance and asked if they would please put their differences aside for one night to celebrate my son's achievements.

  I say screw them all!!!! Invite yor neighbors, and your sons school friends and family over. Shit you may not know them but your son does - at least he can enjoy the company and you can make NEW friends!
