i have been a baptized witness for the last 30+ years, but have not attended meetings in the last 15 years.

Your medical is confidential info between you and your surgeon and you owe no one the truth. Aren't laws in effect that protect the patient/medical team/hospital from these issues and dangerous cults.

Good point, punk, but I don't mind scriptures/viewpoints of Christians -- more of the passage would be good. I think it's beneficial for JWs searching WT info to realize many who've escaped are still Xtians and members of other denominations w/hope/faith in the bible in spite of WT's wacko interpretations/control. They don't have to become an atheist right out of the gate or ever. Good to accept people where they're at in life and let them be who they are although I appreciate for many on board it's challenging to read/deal with.

Hard to imagine the fear JWs have of apostates and ex-jw websites. They cannot deal w/reality nor fathom discomfort of giving up fantasies.

Meetings were bad back then.

meetings have always been bad.. if paul had to "command" people to not forsake the gatherings, the meetings must have been really bad.. considering that jesus said in matt 18:20 "for where there are two or three gathered together in my name, there i am in their midst.”".

and then in matt 11:28-30: "come to me, all you who are toiling and loaded down, and i will refresh you.

take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for i am mild-temperedi and lowly in heart, and you will find refreshment for yourselves.

hey, this community was so helpful last time i didnt know how to handle a situation years ago, and here i am all theae years later back on here asking for some advice again on how to handle a certain situation with my kids.

little bit of backstory.. i'm an non jw, been divorced from my ex wife (practicing jw) for about 6 years now.

have 3 kids 7, 10, 13. .

Call your state bar association for attorney referrals and check w/friends, co-workers, etc. Sounds like your children are too young to be questioned re/custody preferences -- not sure of your son's age but a judge isn't going to let a pre-teen or child make critical decisions. Family law courts even set up online communication re/childrens' visitation schedules -- anything important to oversee difficult cases. All a judge is concerned about is the welfare/livelihood of the children.

RNS - find a very good family law attorney and protect your children. Children need to have supervision/protection of a parent or guardian at all times and not camping outside with other children in caravans. Might need a court-appointed family therapist to advise re/WT activities. I think most states have joint custody provisions.
