QUESTION for BORN-INs who left and are christians --- what faith are you NOW? seems so many people have difficulty with doctrine (trinity, cross, etc.) and just curious/interested. thanks, appreciate, as i've not attended more than a couple of churches.

If I ran the WTS ...
by Simon in... and wanted to disrupt sites like this one and activities of 'apostates' in general, what would i do?.
would i send apologists who were obviously on the side of the wts to spew out the typical wts message, ones that would be quickly labelled and disagreed with?
maybe ... it would get people riled up.

KJW53 -- TRUE, the JWs haven't been around as long as many but what a history! People are very naive and desperate for hope and they're living proof religions get away with murder, literally.
read 100 yrs. ago the baptists or methodists were thought of as a dangerous cult and today mainstream baptists and methodists are respected religions in this country. people know very little about the JWs but what they do know is very negative. it's beyond embarrassing and i can't tell you the people i come in contact with who refer to it as a scary cult and GASP when they hear or know of anyone associcated with it. their reputation is not good and it's structured for adherent's life to be devoted to the group thru works/donations/property --- very intelligent move for cults. the magazines have some decent articles at times but that's what it's all about --- selling their product/recruiting just like avon/marykay/amway, etc., any sales co. i'm not saying the other religions aren't big business because many are.

jgnat -- LOVE your idea. i'd involve dr. laura to protect the children from pedophilia/raping and blood doctrine death by old idiots who can't interpret the bible and to line up reputable shrinks who've expertise w/deprogramming from cults. at least she cares about children and does everything to protect them from evil/sick people.

WOW - WONTLEAVE, sounds like you're in an enemy camp at the hall. i've questioned the memorial for yrs., but reasoned everyone attended to show their respect for Christ's sacrifice whether or not they partook and have considered the fact only the 12 were offered the emblems w/Christ but assumed it was an example for all to do if we accept him as our savior even though i don't participate in any religion that offers the emblems to participate.
Have a difficult time accepting the trinity doctrine and will try to find your posts w/respect to that subject. if God knows everything, why did he have to become a human to go thru and experience what mankind endures. i cannot understand and believe his son was his son, the Christ, but i'm trying desperately to keep an open mind.
thank you for your informative post -- i appreciate.

Wontleave --- i enjoy reading your posts (interesting thread) and wish i had more time --- i'm assuming you're presently a JW? do you accept the memorial and believe only the annointed should partake of the emblems. Do you use/agree with their version of the Bible (NWT)? you indicated you feel the JW's are more accurately following Christ compared to other churches --- was this investigation extensive. an ex-jw friend of mine has recently returned to the JW religion, and i'm curious, other than the fact they do not accept the trinity.

think of the James Taylor song --- "You've Got a Friend," and remember that's from us to you. if you were on the west coast (here for only weekend), i'd invite you to lunch at the Wynn Resort and we could meet and have FUN --- but looks like you're a far way off. maybe we should have a "believers" only meetup (if you can travel) and have fun/relax.

To the Christians of JWN
by snowbird inwhen i read your threads, i get a feeling akin to that of reading the posts of those of a certain ethnicity.. we are really and truly brothers in christ.. not that i have anything against agnostics, atheists, non-theists, and pantheists of course.. syl.

i hope/pray the hackers become interested since children's lives are involved and go after them like they did the scientologists.
