YES. she's in her late 50's now and still in religion. happened when one of the losers (i don't think they had elders in this time era) was driving her home after one of the meetings and she was pre-teen. she was also molested by one of her older (blood) brothers. her father had died when she was very young and left w/no one to care/protect her. she met/married a wonderful man who is an elder today.

This Years Memeorial and MY heartbreak
by PSacramento inso...this years memorial came and went.. on saturday my mom called to invite my wife, myself and my two little girls to the memorial on sunday, i said thank you but said that we won't be going.. on sunday my older sister called inviting us also.. we didn't go, since my eldest daughter asked about it, i explaine dit to her and asked my wife and her if they wanted to do it at home and they said yes.. so after dinner, we all partook of our lord's sacrifice and i explained to my daughters how the taking in of christ's body and blood is symbolic for become one with christ and god.. we always remember christ and his sacrifice and last meal whenever we eat and "say grace" but, becuase of the whoel memorial meal thing, we decided to do a little more.. i read from luke and john.. it was very nice, very special.. then this morning at 8:30 am my mom calls and reams me for 40 min over the phone.. why anyone would think that i or anyone else would want to be a part of an organization that fills people with som much venom and spit, is beyond me.. she basically said that she gives up on me, that i am taken by satan, that satan is working through me and leading me and tha her heart is borken for my little girls.. my mother.... my heart is broken, there is a pain in my gut....

P Sacramento --- i know the pain all too well. what has helped me a tad is when i'm conversing with them (in person or by phone) is to see a HUGE, FLASHING, RED LIGHT (like a sign) on their forehead that reads, SICK! it slows down my blood pressure, and i lower my voice to a whisper, and TRY to think of flowers, puppies, the beautiful ocean, anything to orient myself.
the love of their FANTASY is beyond all reasoning (and FANTASIES ARE SO POWERFUL) and it's hopeless, in my opinion.

i was discussing the memorial w/friend who is back attending public talks after leaving w/tower yrs. ago and how JUDAS WAS A PARTICIPANT in book of John and shared the bread and this should prove the fallacy of the two separate classes and even the non-annointed (JW talk) should partake. her answer was at the time JUDAS participated in the meal HE HAD NOT YET SINNED - DUH! well, Jesus and Judas obviously knew what was about to transpire yet he was still allowed to partake. at this point she was sidetracked w/customer and i left to chat later w/her.

tresdecu -- i think you have a great idea about the newspapers. people sure remember the tv coverage about their pedophilia/child abuse yrs. ago. even a couple of inactive witnesses were shocked and couldn't believe --- said they'd never return to that religion.
it's so sad the government doesn't bother with religions (in this country, anyway) and they get away with everything and totally uncontrolled. i think they should be taxed to help the poor. i'm rambling and not even imbibing.

WHY DO JW's ALWAYS SHOUT --- DEBATE, this is a DEBATE! what in the world is wrong with a debate other than the fact they've been brainwashed by their masters and it's a red flag to close the bookbag and run because they might learn from others not controlled. the nutbag i studied with threw that phrase up to me when interrogating what my husband thought about the religion (omigoodness, no she really didn't want to know) and i would panick (i tried not to hurt her feelings since she was a HARDLINER) and she'd always say that all he'd want to do is debate since he's so educated --- and they wonder why people think they're crazy - DUH!
oh, and the phrase she used in video, "if you want to learn the Bible," another one of their slogans. it's nauseating.

Prayers for my daughter, Ali, not a good update
by coffee_black inmy last update on my daughter was so good...but it didn't turn out that way.
she was cleared to go back to work, but with limitations... she couldn't lift more than 10 pounds.
her employer wanted her back but wouldn't agree to the lifting restriction.

I ADMIRE YOUR desire to stand up to this EVIL. since bad news sells and they are sending molesters (and only God knows who else) door to door --- just maybe the folks might want to know. any negative exposure (truth) that protects individuals is good.
It is very sad what you are dealing with and i don't think people are too fond of religions any more (compared to yrs. ago) and the breaking up of families doesn't sit well with most people --- especially over a magazine/real estate co. w/free labor d/b/a a religion w/all the government protection. i've had people ask me about their shunning, abusive, nature yrs. ago, but had no idea at that time. people think they are a crazy bunch of losers and it's so embarrassing.

i totally can relate about grabbing them and shaking some sense into them. i've opened my mouth enough, believe me, (even to the clergy class), so i'm lying low and going to la la land. talk about learning self-control --- it's enough to suffocate one. this is communism and after being raised in a totalitarian home i hate this!!! i wish i had the energy/time just to go to the meetings and deal with them from a different angle to work at getting them out, but I CAN'T! to top it off even one of my friends has returned to the meetings after visiting many churches and at the time seemed to talk positively about them but she's had mental slippage (or is just plain braindead), and tells me she enjoys the public talk and since it's only 30 min. it's so convenient for her. she doesn't stay for the watchtower because of her hectic schedule. i really think one of her ole buddies who she has a lot in common with is associating w/her again and she can't let her go and her ole-married friends like me don't have time to hang with her. SHE'S LONELY and i feel so bad. i just want her to be happy.
the saga continues --- i'm trying to live and let live and ACCEPT. what a challenge.

WONTLEAVE --- so appreciate reading your posts and the fact you're active yet can be objective about the religion. it helps me consider the positives and balance out when thinking about those still involved. hoped so much it would evolve into something safer for the adherents but instead seems to be going more extreme --- so sad. i wish it didn't have the freedom it does in this country but because people are so controlled and manipulated not much can change until they stand up or completely close their wallets --- aint gonna happen, unfortunately.
