LongHair - I'm sure the sistas would have been much more comfy with you in poverty and begging especially since you were single and if even if married. That's their comfort zone. I saw the reality very early in -- unfortunately, elders would hound me or pull me aside begging (pimping) for their faves. I did respect the elders at that point in time. Had heard horror about one elder and his kids - dealt with it personally and OMG, but didn't blame the kids. Now I'd tell them to find another sucker. One horror drama after the other - what a pathetic cult!
Yep - we all dealt with the career hearings -- no dance/sports, education, careers. I really enjoyed the long despot personal studies of where to live, size of house, stores to shop at to fit in - omigoodness. I saw the non-education for my child/nephew/niece as huge red flags when I was still asleep. Loser cult! I carried on and wasn't about to change my life.
