It's a beautiful season but I'm counting the days to resume normal life -- it's time consuming but enjoyable. I've noticed some neighbors' homes aren't as glitzed up as in the past but they're probably cutting back due to busy-ness/age, travel to visit family, etc., and dealing with workmen/lighting cos, etc., decorating, time consuming - or did too much last year! It's a lot unless you're under 50!

Do You Think “Higher Education “Is All That??
by minimus inas jehovah’s witnesses, we were regularly told how awful a college education is.
i’m no longer associated with the religion but i am not so pro university.
it’s not because i think you are better off without a degree.

Min - you are spot on re/very difficult (actually impossible with the left rhetoric starting in elementary/primary school now) for a student to challenge any professor today. Child development-brainwashing 101. You don't wanna know how liberal Lewis & Clark was even 90s (forever) when member of family attended - unreal. Very expensive education - one very serious liberal college and today it's not unique. I think many non-religious folks are considering these religious-oriented colleges. With the student loan crisis these colleges keep raising their tuition/costs, instructors have easy pay increases (minimal work - some very minimal work) - what difference does it make because the handout game continues. It's a cash cow circus.

'Experiences(tm)'! Made up or totally true??
by punkofnice inat one assembly(tm), i was asked to relate an 'experience(tm)' which i did.
however, during rehearsals, the geezer in charge elder or co or some such title, told me that i shouldn't tell it the way it was.
i did a 're-enactment(tm)' with another 'brother(tm)'.

One experience was a doctor who had to bloviate how bad higher education is -- avoid it and just serve the cult. The speaker could not believe nor many of us. What a sick cult.

Mr. Roger had to qualify as a Christian compared to JWs! JWs are the antithesis of christians who love and do all they can to shelter, feed, clothe, provide medicine, etc., to their neighbor but the GB Goon Squad has determined not to be a good Samaritan - imagine that! More divine revelation and more money for them to squander and live in luxury.
It would take more than kindness and compassion for JWs to grow their base in this country. Most people are clueless about them but what little they do know keeps them running (and alive) from it.

Royal Commission into Charitable status .
by smiddy3 inaustralia has in the last few years conducted a royal commission into child sexual abuse in institutions ,the banking industry , and now aged care facilities .. i think its about time they had a royal commission into organizations that claim charitable status and eligibility to receive benefits/funding whatever.. i`m sure that if they ever did wtb&ts/jehovah`s witnesses would never meet the criteria to receive it.. as they do no charitable work in the community.. if they do any charitable work at all it is only to benefit only jehovah`s witnesses who they consider are in good standing in the jw community.. and isn`t that discrimination ?
not only among their own people but also the whole community ?.
or is it just wishful thinking on my part ,and its not going to happen..

So the filthy JW cult skated around the RCC? I'm not surprised -- that's been their lucky charm for decades. So much for caring for the children and victims as the gospel covers everything/gag me.

When was it time for you to walk away from your congregation meetings and the WTBTS?
by RULES & REGULATIONS inthe basic virtue for a human being is to be true to yourself – the integrity of thought, emotion, and action.. .
ten years ago ( after 32 years as a jehovah's witness), i finally decided that my own mental sanity and being true to myself was more important than attending congregation meetings and serving the watchtower society.
i stopped (years before) field service, the ministry school, answering at the watchtower studies, missed numerous meetings and walked in minutes before the meetings started and left after the closing prayer, i knew it was time to leave.

The first meeting but was brainwashed per the fantasies/garbage in the journals -- magazines. I was even told it's nothing like the mags indicate inside and yet people stay -- it's a snake pit.

LongHair - I understand where you're coming from and they were/are hypocrites. As I was told the cult makes people jump through the hoops and an ex-Bethelite (they were very good humans, btw) told a couple of newbys so many people wanting to become JWs (during the late 80s) the 'society' (gag) made it difficult - all the baptism questions, rules, etc. Many you knew certainly hung in long enough for their retirement and I'm sure had no problem as members. Cults are not accountable and are lawless. At least you didn't fall for the crazy although they excluded you which is evil and they got away with it -- for a time. They'll prey on new vics and the bully cycle repeats itself -- members become burdens to the tax payers/more socialism. This is where the gov't needs to step in -- it's welfare/disability fraud like under Obama's reign. I know so many people who played the disability card. Heard for yrs about the JWs who went off on mental issues deceiving the gov't to finance their way through the cult - unreal. No wonder our country is equal (within few points) of the Netherland's socialization. The JW cult alone drives up the numbers.
A life lesson for sure - lol "skin of my teeth" - scary! It's health devastating and how people stay for their friends is beyond me. I do understand the elderly holding on. I was told you can't walk away from "friends" (gag) because sooner or later you run out. So be it!!
