Hailstone message AND everyone will be saved? Questions
by slimboyfat ini’ve not been paying close attention to watchtower developments, but talking to a jw yesterday it occurred to me the society (yes, still use that term - old school) have been sending out mixed messages in recent years.
from what i gather, a few years ago the gb announced that during the great tribulation jws would be required to preach a “hailstone message of judgement” which involved telling people it was too late for them to repent and they were definitely going to be destroyed.
there were hints that this could be very soon, “any day now” preaching could stop and the hailstone message come in, kind of thing.

Radical shake up
by Mikejw inimagine if all the governing body resigned and a new set of brothers came in and said we are very very sorry for all those who have been disfellowshipped and disassociated over the years.
we know many mistakes have been made.
we are really genuinely sorry to all those who have been hurt and especially those who have died and been hurt by these mistakes.

lolol -- right on, Sister Longy. I'd feel real sorry if someone tried to hit me up for one of those lazy sloths today. In fact as I was exiting, a professional's wife was blathering how a CO's wife needed moolah for something and they were passing tin cup around -- I made it clear I didn't care and she needed to get a job. The sista was shocked and said my name loud ... she's 70 yrs. old! Sounded like a personal problem to me and I didn't care. I'd had it!!
I don't want anyone (young or old) cold, homeless or hungry but they should hit those up w/deep pockets who are their cult friends in the center of the hall or however they 'splained the spiritually strong to me. I was supposed to try to stay close to those -- gag me!

how will history treat joseph rutherford?.
like ben gorden has said, it would depend on who’s looking back.

I know little about the charlatan but recall having read moons ago (H20?) he wasn't an educated lawyer but a court runner or lackey who rode a bicycle delivering court documents. Lawfirms still hire runners who serve papers to other firms and file w/court but mostly done online today. Rutherford had access to the bar exam available via the courthouse and, voila, became a lawyer. It's unbelievable but who knows -- charlatans are quite creative. I always compare the story to the old country doctors who traveled around in wagons selling snake oil.

I agree with Magnum, also. Would take a lobotomy and a valium drip to be part of that so called religion.
The west must be full of lazy, deadbeats, Longy. Halls (enablers) out here beg/collect from studies for handouts to those in the 'in crowd.' I'd never been around so many lazy, entitled, slugs, in my life.

My cousins (older than I) were being drafted during the VN war. A couple enlisted - dropped out of college and I think deferments were option if in enrolled. A couple said they'd be drafted anyway. One didn't return for yrs. (prisoner of war) -- the one I begged to dodge the horror.
Re/"vaccinations -- it was my understanding (this board) they were compulsory for JWs to return to in-house meetings. I'm afraid to ask for details re/my fam members, but I've certainly lost sleep over it. The ruling class at headquarters (the proper term gags me and I'm not referring to them as the governing goons) must have had saline "vaccines" - still going strong.

NotFormer - Yes, horrific not allowing alternative service for the JWs like Terry -- WT charlatans. Poor guys -- bad deal during Viet Nam. I had older male cousins non JW, thankfully, but it was bad and remember too well. Sad WT doesn't fold and collapse but I gave up hope yrs ago. Evil prevails -- always.

It was a win-win for WT. They not only shortened time collecting on estates of the elderly and perhaps childless, younger, couples, (know many younger ones who checked out/died not JWs) but also received compensation from government for promoting the horror. Why they'd need to worry about losing any tax exemptions is slim -- they jump to authoritative demands.
