  i was just remembering i had a part in an assembly part once.

  i was a fresh new pioneer (who never, ever made my time, lol) just out of high school.

  they gave me a brief part to say i was glad i didn't go to college and how i turned down a good job to pioneer.

  my son once had a small part at an assembly or convention, I can't remember which.....and he was not even an unbaptized publisher....he may have been 12 or 13.....

  AND

  he was handling the microphones at age 17 - without being an unbaptized publisher either.

  a brief demonstration showing how a Bible study can be started on the initial call, using just one or two paragraphs in the Require brochure.

  is it not sad that so many bible studies are being reported this way, giving the illusion that so many people are interested in this religion when they actually don't even know that they ARE studying????

  when you were still in the org, did you ever wonder what the apostates were saying?

  the society would just say lies and half truths.i always assumed it was about the trinity, and other religious stuff.

  i thought they were exjws who had become born agains !.

  The only time I ever came accross "apostates" where on my way to a convention...they tried to talk to me and I was scared actually....the sister I was walking with explained to me who they were and that we were not to listen to them.......

  Later I thought that people who were not in the truth, left it or were kicked out and of course they have nothing good to say, I thought it was all lies that they were telling. When I first came accross this website and saw APOSTAFESTS and GET TOGETHERS, I thought OMG, how awful......now I want to have one in my town!

  it's found on page 57.. now look at paragraph 24; the last two sentences read:.

  "like the roman empire, it (the anglo-american alliance) has proved to be "strong as iron", exercising ironlike authority.

  607 Again!

  i am trying to prove that jeruselum fell in 586/87 thereby making the witness date of 607 an error.

  i sent my jw sister in law the chart of dates that prove chronologically the date of 607 is wrong using the insight book and the babylon book.

  i told her i was 'troubled' by this find and asked her to help me out by showing me where i can find proof in the literature that would line up with these dates.

  Hi Sammie,

  maybe the book "The Gentile Times Reconsidered" can help you....The Insight Book mentions Josephus (Antiquities X, ix, 7).....there, in the book I mentioned, it says on page 298, that the Watchtower Society conceals the fact that Josephus, in his last reference to the peoriod of Jerusalem's desolation, states that the desolation lasted for fifity years, not seventy. The statement is found in " Against Apion I,21, where Josephus quotes Berossus' statement on the Neo-Babylonian reigns.

  In the book " Upon the chronology of Josephus" the translator of Josephus, William Whiston wrote that Josephus often in the later parts of his works, attempted to corrected earlier figures. For expamle....the length of the period from the Exodus to the building of the temple as 592 years, which he later changed to 612. ......from the building of the temple to its destruction, he first gives 466 years, which he later corrected to 470.

  Maybe you can find these books in a library...if the Society relies on Josephus to proof the 607 theory, than maybe you can use Josephus to disarm that theory.

  Good luck, it's a hard subject to explain....I hate history and dates, but that book was very interesting to read.
