If Jesus had been given "all authority... in heaven and on the earth," how was he appointed King in 1914? What more authority did he need?

I really don't get what you are trying to say. If the Society keeps changing as to who they are talking about, quoting the same scripture, but changing the interpretation of it......as they do with so many other topics.......you just lost me.

....this is what the bible says.......then how is it that the wtbts lays up even more rules and regulations then they had in the mosaic law?
does this not defeat the purpose of christ's death?
if the law was the tutor leading to christ, now that he died for us, why all these rules?

i was in downtown annapolis today and went into a british/irish store that sells goods imported from the uk.
i saw a bottle of marmite and decided to try it.
i bought the bottle, and when i got home i tried it.
I tried it once....some special pioneer sisters had it out in service and I HAD to eat one......it was not too bad, but they put way too much on the bread......maybe on toast with butter and then a little on it, might not be so bad. But I'm ok if I never have to eat it again.
I celebrate the holidays, I smoke (but will quit on 9/16), I enjoy talking about religion and enjoy the church I sometimes attend. I don't judge people by their beliefs or disbeliefs, I am free.
hi everyone, all i wanted was a bible study, now we're at the point where we read 2 chapters in knowledge book, and the discussion turns to how i forsaking the inciting with others to worship,(something like that).
is there anything i can say to get them to accept that i'll go when/if i feel like going?.
this past weekend, they kept asking me what obstacles were in my way, i said i haven't had time, they go yeah you say that but there has to be something else, .

as you have probably read in all the posts above, they will never let go. The Watchtower Society preaches, that interested ones have to brought to the organization as soon as possible.........the meetings are their lifeline ........ it's a MUST.
You will soon find out that what you are studying is not the Bible, but the Society's interpretation of it. You will be studying their literature, as in the book you are studying now, the book they study in their bookstudy (don't know which one it is at the moment), their Watchtower, their books for the Service Meeting and so on.....for any research, of course, they will use many other Watchtower books.
They will make you believe, that their's is the only true religion and that you will be damned if you don't join......I don't want to discourage you or tell you not to study with them, but beware of what this "study" all includes, if you were to do it their way......
Bible study 1 hour plus 30 minutes preparation for it
Bookstudy 1 hour plus 30 minutes prepartaion for it
Sunday Meeting 2 hours plus 30 minutes preparation for it (minimum)
Theocratic Meeting almost 2 hours plus 1 hour preparation for it
and to go along with the national average of monthly preaching, which is about 10 hours a month, at least 2 hours a week, plus preparation for 30 minutes or so.
That alone is 11 hours every week, not counting the driving time from and to the meetings and the time spent there "visiting".......and I'm sure you heard about conventions and assemblies.
So beware!

I think it was here when I found out about the United Nations.......now that I don't have access to WT literature anymore, I can read bits about on this website and it is hard to realize that this crap once made sense to me.
I learned that Apostates are very nice people, that have started using their brain, that's all. I just wish that JW's would open their eyes and see that the deception is found in their own literature.....and that it is not made up.

i find it very hard for me to believe that the governing body is unaware that many of the wtbts teachings and doctrines are not only deceiving people but are also spiritually, mentally and physically harming them as well.
what are your thoughts and comments?
I think that maybe in the beginning they thought they were doing the right thing and maybe were convinced of it too......but in time I am sure that they know that they are wrong in their thinking, after all of their prophecies did not come true. Surely they MUST know that God or Jesus are NOT talking to them to reveal anything.
But they don't know any other life, where would they go? Not everybody has guts like Raymond Franz, unfortunately. And of course the power that they have over 6 million poeple must feels good too......so yeah, they're wrong and they know it!
