  Resurection with no Soul

  it always puzzeled me how a person could be resurected it there were no soul.. if it is just a clone with your memories then it is not you - or is it.

  are we no more than our memories?.

  assuming as the jw's do that there is no soul or life essesnce that leaves the body and can be restored.

  Since there is not continuity between the original you and the resurrected you, can it really be you? Isn't that a copy?

  Exactly - unless there is something that survives, that can be awakened, lets call it a soul, then what we have is a clone.

  So if the JW notion of a resurection is correct then the JW teaching on the Soul is not, therefore they are not "worshipping in spirit and truth", so down tumbles the whole deck of cards [again].

  Actually if they went back to their earlier teachings they would be closer to the "truth". So it begs the question, is the Governing body actually appostate, and have led all the ranks and file JW's astray.

  Pink Floyd reformed and playing at the London Live 8 concert

  my all time favorite band pink floyd has reformed - with roger waters too - for the live 8 concert.. as a teenage i used to chill out to the floyd.

  the song "comfortably numb" somehow resonates with me.

  anyway live 8 starts in an hour or so [1 am nz] and i'll be up all night enjoying it.

  Oh yes - well and truly nailed. 4 songs and well over the 15 minute limit.

  They seemed to be enjoying themselves - I hope they have another concert - all together. I'd fly from NZ to the UK if I had too.

  ive read some posts on this topic but i think also there's a time to stop being cynical for a moment and try doing something constructive.

  yes last concert wasnt as successful as everyone hoped; perhaps weve learned something since then.

  i look at all the new folk here that seem to have joined in the past 2 months and are posters who are under 100 posts and i gotta wonder why.. has something happened in dubland recently to cause a lot of folk to reach out?

  even in the us where the preaching work has been going on longest and most widespread, very few people have any idea what the message of the watchtower society or jehovah's witnesses is.

  their methodology is flawed.

  selling books and magazines that are rarely read sporadically to people doesn't deliver this message.

  Yes but if they have a good heart Jehovah will move them to read the magazine and beg for a bible study?

  Well this is what my parents say anytime I raise the point - seems logical from a warped borg point of view.

  [1] I'm not sure I could love the God of the bible - fear yes - love no!
  Why: Making Adam & Eve's decendants pay for their sin, throwing Satan and his demons out of heaven to earth, bringing Armagedon to wipe out those distroying the earth / not worshipping him in spirit and truth - yet providing no evidience of who has the truth, and allowing the state of confusion to go on.

  [2] Jesus is lovable, weather he was God, a god, god's son, or an inspirational man.

  [3] I'm not convinved the Bible is anything more than a very old book.
