  Zoom Memorial

  well i did it.. i attended the zoom memorial ( in respect for my mum).

  it was very strange to say the least.

  everyone had bread and wine at their houses.

  It was last night, Saturday 27th March. We had 132 on our zoom memorial, which is a little more than our average meeting.

  Did The Witnesses Mess Up Your Sex Life?

  most of the witnesses i knew never really talked about sex.

  whatever couples did was pretty much kept quiet.

  every once in a while a wife might complain to the elders or a friend that the husband is too demanding or even immoral because of the sex practices the husband wanted.

  Yes, totally agree. So many stories I can recall after I joined WT in my early 20s and hanging out with the teenages. Although remaining chaste myself while single. Some of the sexually active young one's got reproved announcements made. Then there were others that openly talked about their teenage sex experiences and nothing was ever done about it. I can relate what happened to me with my first witness girlfriend, we had been close friends for a number of years, then we found ourselves spending almost all our spare time together, just hanging out, doing it all the correct way we had been instructed. Then a single brother moved into our congregation, and within a few days, another brother who was a friend mentioned to me that this new guy was keen on my girl. So 5 days after he told me this i thought I would go around to my friends place to get an update, and who should find in bed under the covers together, none other than this new guy with the girl I had been friends with for so long. A week later she tried to deny everything between them, and I know nothing else happened with them, it was just a quick sexual get together for them. But that was enough of a warning for me.

  I do wonder if the witness teenages today are has sexually active as they were in the congregations I was associated with during the 1990s.

  i am just wondering if it will opens anyone's eyes.

  Cha ching, even pre 2000, pre studying the WT in a group other than your close family, was stopped, for this very same reason. They were worried that there was no control over how deep possible researching beyond the WT study contents could go.

  Yes, it was briefly announced at our congregation, but only in reference to the days text being done over zoom. We had to many in our congregation joining in each morning and doing a group days text on zoom. That put an instant stop to that little unauthorized meeting.

  The family worship arrangement must almost be going against their own rules. Except that it is approved. Shouldn't it be called family study? The term worship used in connection with any other word that is not Jehovah, gives the wrong meaning as to what is being worshiped.

  Problem is the average JW will never get to read this. I know our congregation was holding the days text each morning over zoom, then an announcement to this effect was read out and that put a stop to that meeting. So JWs know they can't do the days txt over zoom, opening & closing in prayer. But when asked why not, the answer is because we are following instructions from the faithful slave. Then any slight deviations from this allowed? Is it only over zoom that we can't do the day txt? Can a few families get together at someone's place to go over the days txt, well apparently thats ok, because it wasn't specifically brought out at the meeting, only not allowed over zoom.

  if it is a non-jw who did this as a result of their pandemic campaign (letter-writing and telephone calls), jehovah’s witnesses really need to check themselves.

  they have been directed by their new york headquarters (since last year shortly after the start of the pandemic) to send letters to only people they know.

  people don’t like receiving unwanted, unrequested, unsolicited letters and phone calls, especially from jehovah’s witnesses.. if it is a former member who received a letter as a result letter-writing pandemic campaign- most former members do not like being harassed by active jehovah’s witnesses and have been directed by their new york headquarters to send letters to and call only people they know.. .

  I have always disliked the term "Family Worship". We shouldn't worship family. Just like goat worship is worshipping goats. Why was it not called something like family study which is more like what it is?
