July Broadcast Denies That JW Children Die Rather Than Have Medical Care
by BluesBrother inanthony morris 3rd delivered the broadcast this month and advised that lies are circulated that they let children die rather than have medical care .
he says this is so inaccurate as to be a boldfaced lie ...... further he says it is "up to the parents to determine what would be the best treatment for their children" .
now, does this mean that parents are really free to make a decision to accept blood for their minor child, if they so choose?

@morpheus
No watchtower representative physically stands by and prevents it.
Not true. When I had a postpartum hemorrhage after my 4th child was born, and members of the congregation found out about it, I had 2 elders taking turns, in what I am now convinced of, making sure I did not have a transfusion. At the time I was baffled, because I did not have any elder come to the hospital after my previous babies were born where there was no blood issue, but in retrospect I am convinced that is why they were there. Why else would they have been there? Same hospital, previous baby born just 14 months before?

I couldn't help but think about that PSA from 2002 that AMIII presents. I can't remember the exact years that the WTS was affiliated with the UN as an NGO, but I think this may have been produced around the time they were. If I remember correctly, wasn't there some criteria the WTS needed to meet in order to keep their status as an NGO? Possibly this PSA was part of their meeting that criteria?
In viewing the JW.org's 'Protect Your Children' video, what stood out in my mind was that they used the wording, "the WORLD can be a scary place." Kind of misleading if the perpetrator is "an adult you know and trust" that is a not a part of the WORLD by JW definition, but a member of the congregation.

by WasOnceBlind inif you had to pinpoint the time or experience that finally made you open your eyes, what would it be?.
i think for me it was the time i saw my dad shun his brother who he had not seen in decades just because he was a da'ed jw.
i thought to my self "no way jesus would do that.

As a 12-year-old or something close to that (I can't remember exactly), I had a "story" to tell about my witnessing at school and how I got a "study" at a circuit assembly. There were 2 other "youth" telling their "stories" too.
One of the things that always has stuck in my mind was being "suggested" (told) to alter my story to better fit what the agenda was of the program was. I can't remember exactly what that was, but I obeyed and went with their suggestion even though I thought it was somehow deceptive, even as a kid.
On a side note, about 37 years later, that "study" and I are still friends, unlike those who were my "friends" in the ORG. She never became a JW. Had a meal with her a few weeks ago.
Edited to add...**clap***clap***clap!!!! was the response to my altered "story."

I read the book before he passed. I emailed him to thank him. He took the time to email me back, to my astonishment (as Blondie states). He was an amazing and humble man, and his book a legacy to all those who really want to know "the truth about the truth." -

ABCNews Nightline: Segment on JW absuse cases here......
by WingCommander inhere is the segment on the conti abuse case in california and jehovah's witness's response as reported on by the abcnews nightline broadcast which was shown early this morning.
it really displays some absolutely shocking behavior from not only her abuser and his (supportive) wife, but also the jw attorneys and elders via video.
i am just blown away by the audacity displayed by these monsters.. we can now understand why governing body member stephen lett slipped in his comments a couple of weeks ago about "untrue reports of child abuse" in one of his talks which can viewed on the cult's website.

I have a hard time understanding why Canadian news has not picked up the case of my children's grandfather. Tonight he sits in jail in Ontario convicted of 19 counts of child sexual assault. He went to jail almost 3 years ago at the age of 80, and no doubt will ever get out. He was still a JW in good standing when he was convicted. From what I get from other JW's, he is still a JW in good standing and being punished for something that happened "so long ago" and how unjust and unfair that is.
My kids have a cousin who is also their aunt. Their JW grandfather had a baby with my children's aunt. This only became knowledge when the child of the incest was 15. He also abused others (non-jw family members) who pressed charges. The child of the incest was proven by DNA, and also played a role in getting her father/grandfather convicted. (She is no longer JW, but her mother (unbelievably) is still in.) This was unbelievably covered up within the JWs.
His family (husband, wife, 8 boys, and the victim of the incest, 1 daughter,) moved from Ontario to BC to escape it becoming common knowledge in the JW community. It was well covered up. This man was an elder in good standing in BC when I married into the family. The child of the incest was almost 15 years old when the truth came out . It took a custody battle of my children's father's oldest brother to bring the reality to light.
My JW mother took my 4 daughters to visit this man, and their grandmother (who also played a role in the cover up by ignoring and letting what her husband did go, as, what I suspect, was a courtesy to them for being their other JW grandparents. My parents live 3 hours away from where we live and did these visits without my consent. My girls all express he was inappropriate with them.
