Did you enjoy being a JW?
by JH inevery time i went to a meeting, book study, or whatever, the great majority of people looked as if they were truly happy to be a jw.
their smiles looked genuine.
they seemed to love talking to each other.. i, on the other hand, wasn't really happy to be at the meetings.

Since it is obvious all religion is wrong why do so many believe?
by jwfacts inany religion that claims it is the only correct one is obviously wrong.
by it's arrogance it becomes mutually exclusive of any other religion.
when one steps back they can see that the contradiction of one religion over the others is a proof that they all must be wrong.

"This just can't last much longer...."
by BrendaCloutier ini went over and visited my parents today.
my mom broke her hip while we were in hawaii, and i've been mostly house/bed ridden myself since we got home.
so i finally got over there today.. we talked a little about the hurricane, which was on the news she turned off.

My relatives say the same type of things. Although, we came in stronger after 1975, for the most part. They want the end to come and see it just around the corner. It will come, there end, which is death and that is the only certian thing in life. Personally, I look forward to seeing them on the otherside in spiritual existence and perhaps laughing about it all when we know who was right and who was wrong. Although, I think the physical is full of lessons and experiences we wanted from this life and regret nothing I did and they should not either. After all life is just a puzzle with many peices and the picture ultimately hangs on your wall when completed and no one elses.

In all honesty, it was the first person I had sex with and no we were not married. I was doing something behind my parents back and we were having sex as much as possible and I was proud! I thought I was in love with the person and now I see I just liked the sex. We would leave at lunch during High School to go home at have sex, have sex after school and every Friday and Saturday night when I was suppose to be at friends houses, we were having sex. No wonder I was in such good shape then, my body was getting the major work out. Went through cases of condoms, and to be honest, I think it was fun and I have no regrets. Practice makes perfect and when my wedding night hit, as a Witness, lets just say I knew what I was doing and my spouse didn't mind. To answer questions though,
- I never told the elders
- My spouse knew and figured it was no ones business
- I still wonder where that person from High School is, as I never saw them again after getting serious into the Witnesses (Pioneering, etc.)

Would you buy a new car on a 60 month loan?
by Elsewhere ini have never done a 60 month loan and i have sworn i never would... but with how much cars are costing these days i'm wondering if i will have to do a 60 month loan on my next car.
that is five frigg'in years!
i paid cash for my last car ($4,500 - 1999 ford contour se, used) so i had no payments to make.

Unless you have a lot of money to put down, and you really want that car, you have very little choice. However, never buy a car as an investment, as it will never be worth more then you paid or even as much as you paid. Get one with good gas mileage though, or you wont be happy with the payment.

Is the bible inspired?
by jwfacts ini am trying to determine if it can be proved that the bible is inspired, and was wondering if most people here believe it is or is not.. i am writing a document on proof of inspiration, but it has ended up more of an article that shows the bible can not be proven to be inspired.
i will be interested in what people think about it when it is finished.
however i am worried that posting such an article may alienate those on jwd that believe the bible to be gods word.

No, unless you mean, "Is the Bible inspiring?" As I think it has inspired many, but much the same could be said of other books, both modern and ancient. Keep in mind though, that even a person of simple thinking can point out the fact that the Bible does not really make sense with all books like we were taught, unless you want it too, which many do want it too.

Celebrities - None, as they are actors who stopped living life and began playing it to the point that no one is who they seem to be
Relatives - Me, as I think I came along ways and I have become more and more true to myself
Friends - I see all of my friends as people who have areas I admire, and no one stands out beyond the rest
Spiritually - Spirit
Other - Anyone who can turly look in the mirror and say, "I am who I want to be," and mean it.

since the spring i have had a series of injuries that have kept me from exercising.

Exercise at least 20 minutes a day doing something you enjoy, walking in the neighborhood, etc. Also, eat smaller meals and more of them and never anything after 6PM, except water.

I voted while I was a Witness and just kept it to myself, my state does a mail in ballet. I was registered a Republican and not I am Independent. Which drives some people nuts as they say you must draw a line in your politics. I disagree!
