Tonight I disassociated myself - after 24 years - had 2 hour meeting with Elder
by Intel ini am now sitting at home.
my wife left with my little child.
my fault (i dislike the word "fault", but don't have a better one right now).. it feels strange, relieved and free, at the same time it was all very strange.

Funniest Thing to happen during a meeting?
by truthseeker1969 ini am sure all of us have laughed at something that happened at the kingdom hall or assembly.. the first one i can think of is a brother giving a talk on voting and saying " why is it that men sit iin pubs and discuss how bad the economy is and the cost of everything and yet when the 'erection" (election) comes up they never do anything about it.. my brother in his best beavis n butthead voioce said " huh huh he said erection".
we sat for the next 45 mins trying hard not to laugh.. of course, i got the look from the elders and the talk about not laughing.. .

Elder fell to sleep and fell out of chair in to the aisle.
Woman stood up in "Proper view of sex and marriage" talk and started asking elder what business he had to dictate a persons love life.
Woman came in, in middle of Sunday talk, yelling to her former husband that he cheated on her and discribed what he did. "You let he suck your ****" and you "****ed her in the ass" and screamed all the way out the the parking lot. He was then, a ministerial servant. Happened in a congregation in Northern California. (Glad I witnessed that one, was a great day)
Several more ....
No smurfs walking out of Kingdom Halls though, but heard it was a regular event at some. Kind of wish I witnessed that though.

Do You Think It Is Wrong To Stereotype?
by minimus ini know we are supposed to be politically correct but i don't always feel that this is warranted.. i do think that certain things might be generally true and could be viewed as stereotyping.
for example, if i see a young person driving a car very slowly, i might think that they are texting and driving (or else are asian).
now that might not have sounded proper, but i do think it's generally true, from my experience driving in the city.. if i see a "butchy" looking woman, i generally assume the woman is gay.

Not in the least, in fact it is quite fun to see just how many times it fits. Just be flexible and know not every single stereo type is going to fit, but you will be more right then wrong.

What DO I think about Glenn Beck?
by AK - Jeff ini think of myself as 'moderate libertarian' if i must attach a lapel card.
and i'm not sure that is entirely the correct one.. i endorse fiscal conservative thinking, believe in limited government, and a strong domestic defense policy.
in these areas, i could find myself in agreement with the talk show host.

I agree with you. I see him in the same catagory as the gay rights people who put on an emotional show of crying and outcry to get their rights. Doesn't mean I disagree with them, his thoughts, etc. I just hate excessive drama and self centered displays to get a point across. Makes me want to kick them in the balls.

still, i never felt terribly deprived because of not going further in my education.. yet, i did wish that i could've had "normal" aka "worldly friends".
i wish that as witnesses, we could've been better integrated with other people.
