How do you trust your partner?
by sonnyboy indoes anyone really trust their girlfriend/boyfriend around members of the appropriate sex?.
i thought we had some form of trust, but i dropped my biotch off at the car dealership today and noticed a rather long conversation going on with a "questionable" neighbor (one that we've talked about before in a sexual way).
so, how do you go about building trust in a relationship?

Well, I see loyalty and the desire to fool around as two separate things.

My Anger is Building & Building
by LouBelle inhey everyone - i have this anger, perhaps rage boiling within me, it has been for the past week since i was disassociated.
my feelings of dislike are turning to bitterness & hate against this organisation.
i learnt today that the elders have lied to my family.

This horrible concept is completely foreign to me. I hope you can work through this.
In my area, JWs don't take themselves so seriously. At least not that I know of. We disassociated ourselves years ago, yet we're still visited by elders and others members of the cong frequently.
I guess these cultists are more strict in other parts of the world. My advice to you would be to get in your family member's faces and tell them exactly how you feel. What have you got to lose? Let it all out, and don't be afraid.

Intro/Is it ok for me to be here?
by Sad emo inis it ok for me to be part of your 'gang'?
you see i'm not a jw and never have been and a bit of of me feels like i'm gatecrashing.. i was raised in a strong roman catholic family - i was expected to believe everything the church taught without question and i did.
when i left school, i found myself working with an evangelical christian who, because she questioned my beliefs slowly made me look into them for myself - i truly hated her at the time for doing that and admit that i made her life a misery in revenge - but eventually i began to see that some of the stuff she was saying was right, we became very good friends and my real journey out of the rc church began.. i was too scared to leave straight away because of the doctrines i'd grown up with - no salvation outside the church and you can only really communicate with god through the priest (big issue here was how do i get my sins forgiven cos if i don't i'm gonna go to hell) - it was another 10 years before i finally plucked up the courage to leave and this was because of two things that happened:.

Of course you're welcome here! You're an ex-JW's strongest ally.

What is Death?
by Blueblades inwhat is death?
is it the ceasing of bodily functions due to illness or malfunction of a vital organ reversing the order of what occured at birth?
is the body nothing more than a shell and subject to ordinary laws affecting matter once deprived of its operating force?

I guess you'll find out when you die. No living person can possibly answer your question.
I'd like to think that there's some sort of life after death, but I'm not holding my breath (yet).

I don't. I thought we had some form of trust, but I dropped my biotch off at the car dealership today and noticed a rather long conversation going on with a "questionable" neighbor (one that we've talked about before in a sexual way).
So, how do you go about building trust in a relationship? How do you know how much temptation affects your partner? Should we even care?
I'm confused. I'm beginning to think that relationships are nothing more than a hassle.

mo money
by peacefulpete ina side by side comparison of 2 kings and 2 chronicles reveals an inescapable literary relationship.
it is generally conceeded that the chronicler was rewriting 2 kings for agendas of his own and theological motives though there are some who feel there is evidence that both writers were using a now lost third narrative as the source for their respective versions, (perhaps the book of the annals of the kings of judah, per 2 kings 12:20?
) either way the differences are many and impossible to harmonize and reveal the motivations of the respective authors.

Native American Artifacts
by IP_SEC inmy great grand father was one half cherokee, he taught me about making flint tools and a lot about the land.. his son, my grand father taught me how to find flint tools lol.. the area i'm from is literally littered, with these tools laying right on the ground.
some may have been lost in the hunt, others discarded as a broken implement.
have you ever found artifacts?
-
sonnyboy
We don't have any Indian graves around here that I know of, but I also don't see the problem with collecting artifacts that are just lying around.
If someone finds my class ring 1000 years from now, what do I care? If anything I'd be glad that someone's able to appreciate it rather than leaving it stuck in the mud.

Supernatural
by susu812 indo any of you believe in the supernatural?
like casting spells and such?
have any of your done it before and been successful?
-
sonnyboy
Should the term "supernatural" ever apply to anything that's reality-based?
If something is capable of existing or occurring, then it's natural. It doesn't matter if it's witchcraft, telepathy, or astral-projection.
To answer your question, if something is supernatural then it must be the stuff of fairy tales, so no, I don't believe in it.
