  help my mother is brainwashing my 10 yr old

  ughhhhh, i left "the truth" when i was 16 i had my daughter when i was 18. while is was finishing college my mother watched my daughter for me , so they are very very close.

  well whenever my daughter goes to visit usualy about a week at a time my mother takes her to the hall .

  she fills her head with the doctrine and tells her that ill say bad things about it and scares her into not telling me about it .

  Well, if your daughter stays with her for that long at a time, and your mother goes to the hall, wouldn't she have to take your daughter with her?

  Just don't let her stay there that long, or tell your mother that if she continues to brainwash your child then there will be NO UNSUPERVISED VISITS. Period.

  There often comes a time when we have to stand up to our parents and say, "Enough's enough." The same goes for younger people who claim to be apostates yet let their parents drag them to the hall.

  Phone Witnessing...

  in my congregation, there is a well established group that does phone witnessing every thursday.

  the society actually encourages us to try other avenues of ministry, however it seems like phone witnessing is hurting more than its helping.... even i, the covert apostate, don't mind phone witnessing.

  i mean whats not to love?air conditioningfoodsitting around and talkinggirlsdid i mention food?.

  holy crap it's hotter than hell out there!!

  i know, i know, i had bitched back in early may cause it was snowing outside, but this is crazy!

  right now, it's 30 celcius, or 86 fairenheit outside.

  Very hot; it got up to 92 degrees fahrenheit in Maryland today and the heat index was much higher. I attempted to do some yard work and nearly drowned in my own sweat.

  Why do we need to "belong" anywhere?

  That's exactly the way society wants you to think; it wants you to think like a follower, to fall in line. Why not make a list of all the things you enjoy in life and everything that makes you happy. Forget about the cult brainwashing you once knew and do what YOU think is right. Take a tip from Nike and Just Do It. That's what I did. Even when I was in a relationship and had a roommate, I often felt alone, like my life was going nowhere fast. I then took a look at my list and started doing things that I thought were interesting: I began taking courses at the local college (which leads to meeting more people if that's your goal), started a marine fish hobby, began going to the beach and meeting people in local pubs, contacting old high school friends with whom I lost touch, and the list goes on.

  When we're in a rut of lonliness and depression, we need to become active in some way. That's my philosophy anyway. I still don't feel like I "belong" anywhere, but why should I? I'm simply living life day-by-day while attempting to steer it in a direction that makes me happy. Try to think of yourself as a leader and others will follow. If you feel the need to 'belong', you can create that environment yourself. You don' t have to look for it anywhere.

  I don't want a traditional funeral. I want my ashes to be packed in fireworks and have them fired off while everyone stands in silence. I don't think I've done enough with my life for people to say anything.

  Do you believe the earth is warming up in your area?

  we hear so much about global warming, that we wonder if it's a myth or real.

  is it just in fractions of a degree or much more.. since posters here are from all corners of the world, i'd like to hear from you, and let us know if you see a difference in the weather patterns in your area, since the last few years.. here, i notice that more people have air conditioners in their homes than before, and most cars have them today.

  does this mean that its hotter, or that the population is getting older and people are less resistant to heat?.

  It may be possible. As a kid we'd go sledding every winter, but for the past decade or so there hasn't been enough snow to do anything like that. If we do get a little snow it's usually gone within a few days.

  Then again, three or four years ago we had a blizzard that had us barricaded in the house for five days.
