Suicide ends pain for many
by joelbear in.
doctors have began prescribing suicide as a way out of pain saying that this medical avenue should have been recommended many more times in the past.

I hope you're not contemplating suicide. What is your pain ? Physical ? Emotional ? You are liked and loved by so many people. Funny for me to say that... I've been thinking about it too lately... Not making plans or anything, just thinking about it... Stuck in a place I don't want to be anymore I guess... Oh well, I do have to think about others, my parents, my son....

What a great article ! How did the journalist come across this story I wonder... Did the older sister come forward and told him about being shunned by her JW family? We need more of these (and they are there, no need to invent them...) all over the newspapers, all over the country.

1000 post today
by hippikon ini wonder if this means i no longer have a master member...............status.
on this auspicious occasion i would like to thank to all the members who have participated in the discussions that helped me see that the emperor wasn't waring any cloths.
i would also like to thank the watchtower society for the target practice, spiritual vomit and stupid coments in their literature that made it so easy to leave

Bush's Poodle
by Iron Eagle intony blair is george bush's little poodle.
this guy is going against what every englishman really wants by standing side by side with you yanks on everything bush decideds to do .
as terrible as 9/11 really was , if it was london that dusty bin laden would have hit , there is no way that bush would be side by side with blair in a 'war on terrorism' .

I like Tony Blair.... At least he can talk, Bush can't.

Should America Start Closing the Borders?
by pettygrudger in.
my hubby & i had a debate tonight, so i'm kinda taking a poll..... my hubby says we should stop immigrations and start closing up the borders - except in cases of political asylum or a family member.

eyegirl says :
. i really thought the government should deport anyone who isn't a citizen.
Hmmm... then I would have to go back to France too... I am not a US citizen, just a "resident alien with a green card"... and OMG ! Would I have to leave my American husband and son behind ?

Ray Franz And Things That Are Too Hard To Handle.
by Englishman ini see that ray franz is coming in for a fair bit of criticism due to his apparrant unwillingness to accept that jw's had a problem with the existence of child abuse when he was a member of the gb.
also, it would appear that ray is being chided for his belief in the rule of 2 witnesses before action can be taken against an abuser.
it seems to me that it is quite likely that ray wasn't aware that there was a serious abuse problem within the society when he was a member of the gb, if only for the reason that ray would find such an activity so detestable that he would believe it to be a virtually impossible act for anyone to perpetrate.

Though I find the sexual practices involved to be definitely contrary to my personal standards, I can honestly say that I did not favor the disfellowshiping decision made by the Body. But that is all that I can say. For when the vote came I conformed to the majority decision. I felt dismayed when the Body assigned me to prepare material in support of the decision, yet I accepted the assignment...

I Need To Gain Weight??
by Dutchie ini am so bummed!
i went to the doctor yesterday and he said that i was too thin and that i need to gain 5 or 10 pounds.
i don't understand why.
-
Celia
If you feel good and don't have any health problems, then you don't need to put on 5 or 10 pounds. I think it is a strange recommendation coming from a doctor. Although not as thin as you are (I am shorter too), I always lose weight in the spring and summer and gain some in the winter months. I always feel better when my weight is the lowest (105). When I visit my parents, they always bug me and say I look like a skeleton and should eat more.... and "don't they feed you in the US ?" But that's when I feel really good, active, energetic, happy...

How Big is Your ..........?
by orangefatcat inwell now that i have your attention, just how big is the turkey your going be serving for thanksgiving?
and what do you serve with it?
name your favorite side dishes.
-
Celia
For our small family, any bird over 12 pounds is a waste. I do not like leftovers very much.
I make very good mashed potatoes, creamy, buttery, yummy. My mom makes the best mashed potatoes I have ever tasted, mine are getting there, been trying to imitate hers...
I also make another potato side dish = gratin dauphinois, mostly for me, because that's the only time I can have it = my husband does not like it...
Probably Butternut Squash, or green beans, or both... Stuffing, cranberry sauce, gravy.... A huge mixed salad dish before all that, then cream puffs filled with vanilla cream and chocolate mousse, and an apple-cranberry pie. A good red wine with dinner : Chateauneuf du Pape, already bought...
