A grain of salt:
I highly doubt it was in the secretary's job description to make tea for customers.
Maybe she just did not like doing it, and she found an excuse not to in this case.

i have a friend, xjw, who is having medical problems and no matter what i seem to say to her, i can tell she has not gotten over the issue of <gasp> no blood.
since the no blood stand was so ingrained in us as jws (almost like the unforgivable sin) my friend just cant seem to let go of that thinking.
i know i get too clinical at times, so i need some help with reasons why taking blood is or is not an issue for you anymore.
I would...but I must admit the thought of it still makes me squeamish.
I developed a phobia of blood as a child of JWs.

Has it crossed your mind just how prominent rape was in the old testament?
Perhaps the old lechers Lot and Canaan were abusing/raping their children. Perhaps the story about drunkeness was just a way of exculpating the abusers. Quite likely, actually.
Especially considering children were married off during adolescence.
And to converge with the earlier thought about ascribing vice to your enemies...
Why was it okay for your tribe to conquest and rape, killing all except the virgins? How could this possibly lead to consensual sexual relations? The girls would not even speak your language!
And yet your own tribe would go to great lengths to 'protect' your own females from the clutches of outside males. Hypocritical?
Women were enslaved and abused...did Jehovah condone this?

...and a split between two forces within the divinity (i.e. the 'divine company' ... "Let US make man in our image).
Read the book of Job again. The first chapter or two are interpolations...to make up for the countless chapters afterward that blame Jehovah for Job's calamaties, a few very wicked deeds are inserted to blame a devious angel, Satan.
Satan is mentioned in only one other place in the Old Testament.

For example, my grad advisor had a birthday last week. Everyone was to meet at 11:30 at our office because we had reservations for about 15 people at a Greek restaurant nearby. Well, 11:30 found me in bed with my girlfriend not quite finished sharing an intimate moment...
I threw on some clothes afterward, raced to campus to drop off my things, hopped on a bus to shorten my trip...and arrived at the restaurant about 5 minutes after everyone else. I walked in casually, wearing sandals and a Hard Rock Cafe t-shirt.

This is a glaring contradiction...
If God really confused the languages at the Tower of Babel, then how could the decendants of Noah have diverged linguistically and geographically and yet... remember how they diverged from a common ancestor?
It takes a creative stretch of the imagination and quite a few steps of illogic to believe that story.
