  i'd always wondered if they had managed to stay together.

  they looked the same, save a few more dry wrinkles, as they did twenty years ago.

  god thats so sad. Have they been homeless for all those years? Do they sleep rough? thats a really sad story. It hurts to think of frail people being treated so cruelly and casually by the world.

  growing up, i remember hearing stories from my own parents and others in the congregation about experiences with demons.

  sister x wore a t-shirt that she purchased at a second hand store and the demons attached themselves to the shirt and gave her problems.

  certain movies and/or cds would give a family problems.

  Well, call me a big baby, but im sat here in the middle of the night reading this and ive proper scared myself to death. Had to put the light on!

  Oddly, I was just reading a collection of articles on the BBC news website under Weird West (west of england where i live) about unexplained phenomena.

  I cant believe every single incident is a figment of someones imagination. But the problem is only the person it has happened to believes it for sure, and even if that person documents what happened everyone else can say 'oh well theres this reason or that reason'.

  I think there is more to life than scientific provable facts.

  nobody ever said that the end was coming in 1975.. all the hype about this date that has continued all the way down through today came from a talk in the early 70's by fred franz.

  in this talk, franz pointed out the significance of the 7 creative days and how they correspond with 1,000-year time intervals.. he then said, "could the end come in 1975?

  there's so much wrong with jehovah's witnesses from their rigid legalism to their faux love, but let's call a spade a spade about the 1975 thing..

  Sigh. Its like people who deny the holocaust, and then everyone else has to go to extreme lengths to prove that it actually did happen, like compiling 9 hours of video footage (SHOAH) of interviews with holocaust survivors to make sure its all recorded before those guys all die out and then everyone can pretend it didnt happen.

  Why would hundreds of thousands of people put off jobs houses education families if that particular idea hadnt been actively encouraged? How can you even begin to imagine that the leadership arent culpable?

  i thought it is ironic that the jehovah's witnesses force their members to go door to door throughout the neighborhoods.

  and then once a year american's have a tradition where our kids go door to door throughout the neighborhoods on halloween.

  but the jw's kids can't go!

  ok so i am a ex-witness,(disfellowshiped) i have posted here before...but i must say why have'nt we moved on?

  come on i mean if we all really thought that the jw sect was just that then why are we not trying to forget it and let life go on as it has; and try to be true to ourselves and our neighbor and read jesus words as recorded in the bible?

  i have been reading my bible on lunch breaks at my work, as well as reading in the dhammapada.

  If everyone moved on (left the board), who would be here for the new ones that need help and encouragement while leaving?

  If everyone moved on there would be no social groups or support groups at all about anything at all, just loads of single individuals moving on... a bit like the London Underground I guess! Personally I just like coming here and shooting the crap with friends. Sorry if that bums you out. Its not my fault if I happened to find a bunch of friends who are all stupid and selfish enough not to live down my street so we can chew the fat in my living room.
