this event is to try to make the australian government pay more attention to the public's concern with global warming.

just found this site today
by TopDog inthis is a great site, thank you to whoever started it.
i left the "truth" about 6 years ago and like many i still feel guilty about it.
my older brother lives in dominican republic, he moved there about 12 years ago to help where the need is greater.

JW restrictions on sex, lead to over hype that made sex disappointing.
by free2beme ini remember being a teenager and my hormones were on overdrive.
the young witnesses i knew, male and female, were all feeling the same thing.
we would bring up sex, in one form or another, all the time.

It was WAY too heavy wasnt it.
Well, suddenly I had elders asking me if I intended to marry this person.
I had that too. I went ice skating with a boy (oh and about 16 other JW's). He really liked me and he phoned me nearly every night. After a while his dad who was an elder came round and asked me what my intentions were towards his son. I was 16!!!

My wife I love her but?
by skyking ini just posted this on another thread and decided to post my own thread about it.. a few posters here that know me personally know about my amazing wife.
i had a very hard time accepting what i have learned about her.
she has a gift she has kept from the world until she was in her 30's.

Wow, thats truly amazing.
It must be a relief for her to talk to you about it. It must have been terrible carrying that around on her own.
Was she mad when you turned her into the elders? Did they tie her up and throw he in the river to see if she floated? I believe that is the standard religious response to anything they dont understand.

If you don't believe me, I will let her testify for me
Sigh. Of course I believe you. I just thought I had left behind the conversations that went "I did it for 6 hours" when I moved into my 20's.
If you're a Witness you technically can sex the minute you're engaged. Since you have made a promise that should not be broken
With all respect, thats cobblers. You have to go through a marriage ceremony like Adam and Eve did with god saying 'you are man and wife'. blah blah blah.
Certainly its true that when you get engaged you are making a promise. In fact you used to be able to sue in law on that promise if it was broken. But you cant any more, and even JW's would not hold someone irrevocably to the promise made in engagement in the way they would hold you to the promise you make in mariage. Marriage is a binding ceremony infront of god (or a civil registrar). Engagement is a promise to each other that you will get married.

Saddam thought acid baths were an acceptable way to treat people. I think he should be given a dose of that which he deemed acceptable for others.

last night we did it 3 times, and she must of "O'd" about 6.
And youre not showing off or anything are you? Ive heard teenagers talk like that!
I was in the second camp, married way too young and sex was both a huge disappointment and riddled with guilt. I totally blame the religion for that. The hype was ridiculous. I remember thinking 'ive been told all my life that its wrong and I mustnt do it or think about it or talk about it, and now after a short ceremony its suddenly OK, and I have to get rid of a lifetime of conditioning
