Hambeak, my lovely. DONT COOK FOR HIM.
You never had to celebrate xmas when you were a Witless. Only do the bits that you really enjoy, now you are able to do what you want.
Have a relapse. Fall ill. Pretend you are in hospital. One way or another dont do it, because you and Jake will both resent it. And what a waste of a precious day off.
Or just say "sorry mummy in law, I cant do it", and dont give a reason. Just resist giving a reason, but at best act all mysterious like there is a really important reason that you are not at liberty to share.
If you dont want to do it, then I think we can all take it as red that the guy REALLY doesnt deserve it.

It is a joyous affair," said Church of Scientology spokeswoman Karin Pouw.
It always makes me laugh how religious people feel the need to explain this kind of thing. Like, what wedding ISNT supposed to be joyous???.
And what a frickin' stoopid word. Joyous. Its not what a normal person would say.
"Hey Norm, how was that wedding?"
"Oh you know. It was joyous"
WTF.

Is a Dead Bunny Funny?
by OUTLAW injust had a buddy up to the ranch.this is his story:.....a friend of mine saw his dog with a dead animal in his mouth covered in dirt..it was a dead bunny..not any dead bunny..this was the nieghbours family pet bunny..my friend was shocked and didn`t know what to do.he knew the nieghbours would get very upset that his dog had killed their pet bunny..the nieghbours weren`t home right now,so he came up with a plan..he cleaned the dirt off of the dead bunny and put it back in it`s pen and hurried home..a little while later, the nieghbours came home..a few days later my friend and his nieghbour had a chat..the nieghbour was angry and upset..the nieghbour said:"last week our family pet bunny died.the kids were upset and cried.so me and the mrs thought we`d have a funeral for the bunny with the kids and give it a nice burial..well,a few days ago, some sick bastard dug the bunny out of the grave and put it in it`s pen."..lol!

That is funny, but I heard that story as a joke quite a few years ago.
Maybe your friend is a budding comedian

I can't be proud of my kids!
by WANTMOMBACK intoday i went to my daughter's school and they sang "america the beautiful" and i videoed her.
i do have a question though!!
how do most people explain to their children about why grandma and grandpa never come to their birthday party or any holiday function?
-
katiekitten
Im sorry about your situation. I have a similar one, but my mum is a bit less frowny than yours.
As far as explaining things, dont worry, kids really are excellent at accepting different peoples situations as long as its all explained properly to them and without bias.
My 9 year old daugher is completely OK with the fast that she doesnt get birthday or christmas presents from half the family because they are Jehovahs Witnesses. I dont slag them off, I just say Nana doesnt do that because shes a Jehovahs Witness. Shes fine with it, and shes perfectly happy to disuss it and tell other people. Its just an interesting fact for her. Of course I cant explain the scowls and faces like slapped arses as well, but she doesnt seem to notice that!

Feeling bad for doing normal things - SLIGHT ADULT CONTENT
by jambon1 ini was reading the article in the nov awake about musterbation (not a typo, i just hate that word & have to rephrase it)!!.
it took me back to the days as a young man who had normal feelings of a sexual nature.
new in the truth and fighting, with every fibre of my being, (at least in the beginning) against the idea of having a ham shank.

people are basically 'mind punished' for participating in the normal things of life.
God yes, I couldnt agree more. I have a lasting memory of going to watch some witnoids play a game of footy when I was about 18. I sat in the Sports Centre bar and had one glass of wine. Someone was video-ing the football, and some of the banter in the bar later on. I remember laughing just a bit too loud, and them feeling ashamed and guilty for months after because I felt as if I had acted like a worldly person, and whats more it was all on video.
I remember condemning myself for acting like a dunkard (one glass!), I still can feel that shame about it now, and thinking back it was nothing. I only laughed. Loud. Once.
Its a real shame. Because generations are growing up with feelings of low self-worth, depression & anxiety, when they should be enjoying the best days of their lives.
I agree again. I felt robbed of being able to be a normal teenager. I was wracked with guilt all the time about not being good enough. I was convinced I would never get through armageddon. I dont know why I didnt leave earlier, given I felt I wasnt putting enough hours in ministry to merit everlasting life!

It must be so hard for you to watch our lovely Hambeak take shit and not be able to say or do anything.
There was something of a similar situation in my partners family. There was a rift between my partners sister and his mum. The sister said some pretty nasty things to the mum, and the mums boyfriend started sending nasty texts to the sister because he felt so helpless and pissed off. Now, he really went about things the wrong way, but all told, lots of things got said that some people wanted said. The rift was never going to heal anyway, there was nothing to lose by him venting.
I think Hambeak is unbelievably generous to protect his childrens feelings by never retaliating. If I were you I think I would have to have my say, but perhaps in a controlled way that left no doubt about what I thought.
Anyway love to you both. I am happy that our wonderful Hambeak is loved by someone as wonderful.
