  Are the Anointed real?

  dear jwders.

  as i continue to question all that i have ever known, i am now at the subject of the anointed .

  was there ever anyone really anointed after pentecost?

  Its a strange one because according to witless dogma it is the 144 000 who are the faithful and discreet slave who give out food at the proper time, and yet the borg dont keep records of who is supposed to be one, and take no specific note of them. And the witing committee are mainly if not exclusively the 'other sheep'.

  The annointed therefore have no hand at all in the dispensation of food at the proper time, and yet it is this very foundation that gives the borg its supposed direct link to god - because he came to earth and found his faithful and discreet slave doing what it was supposed to in 1914, and appointed them over all his belongings.

  Also all the annointed I know have been completely batty. Its the one area the borg cant control because there is no way of testing or proving who IS and who ISNT - its just who ever decides they are one. And IMO the people who decide they are one are fom the same class of people (not JW's) who think they were Napoleon or Cleopatra in a previous life.

  i get this daily email from a bible thumping friend of mine this was part of todays topic.. sometimes we wonder, "why do we have to go through these trials & breakings, lord?

  " well, there are some things the lord can't reveal to you in advance because you're not yet ready.

  he's got to let you go through some testings without your even knowing what the future holds, to see if you can take it, to see how loyal you are, to see how strong you are, to see how faithful you are, to see if you will be willing to do whatever he asks!

  Yeah, I always test those I love to make sure they still love me. How else would I know for sure?

  It makes for such a wonderful relationship, keeps them on their toes.

  Spontaneous ass kissing after they have proven themselves worthy of my love has always been the most sincere form of respect that I could ask from my mate.

  Especially the people I love the most - like my kids. How on earth would I know my daughter loved me if I didnt keep letting her go through unnecessary and manufactured crap that she need not go through other than to massage my fragile ego that she still loved me.

  Am I being Horrible?

  right so it's time to buy christmas gifts and the like - which is great - i do love giving.

  now i don't usually give to get back.....but some of my so called mates just seem to like taking and taking..... this one guy - i'm mates with his sister and we have gotten to know each other and i'd say we have become friends - when it was his birthday (my first invite) i got him a really unique quirky gift, then came christmas and i got him 2 gifts and added a fun aspect to it, his birthday rolled around again this year and i got him another nice gift.. me: i got a card for chrismtas and he went halvies on a cheap book with his sister for my birthday.

  so this year i'm not getting him anything, his sister comes to me and asks if i'm getting anything for him, so i said no - he'll be getting a card from me, she looked a lil stunned.. i do feel a lil bad but i'm tired of always giving and giving and giving and giving - hell he even forgot about my christmas party this weekend.

  LOL! A family I knew used to give WInter Presents!!! Just after christmas (well the sales are on so it makes economic sense!)

  Apparently the group was demonized because supposedly if you play "Another One Bites the Dust" backwards, they say, "I love to smoke marijiana."

  YES! I remember now, thats the very reason we were all told to throw out our Queen albums.

  And the thing about Jimmy Page selling himself to the devil - didnt beelzebob take his son in exchange for excellent lyrics and singing??

  I remember a couple more - no-one was allowed Frank Sinatras "My Way" because it was independent thinking. That was one on the oldies!

  Also I remember Tracy Ulman doing a cover version of "Move Over Darling" and a long discussion ensuing about whether the song was about pre marital sex. Eventually one eldrette decided that in the film that the original song was taken from the singer (Marilyn Munroe I think) of the song was asking her HUSBAND to 'move over' in the bed and therefore we were allowed to listen to the song, as no pre marital sex was happening.

  over the past few days... someone who i'm no longer associated with has been out on vendetta to discredit me.

  it started with a mass mail to my myspace friends, which caused nothing more than a few eyebrows to be raised.

  that was the reaction of people who know me in real life.

  As a JW u can't have sex before marriage right? - "u can't test drive the vehicle before buying it".

  Well marriage is much more serious than buying a car. So we have heaps and heaps of couples getting married when they are teenagers. i.e 18 - 19yrs of age.

  So u can't whack off, u can't have sex, so u marry one of the first girls/guys you really like. My niece just got married 2 weeks ago - she has only just turned 18yrs!

  Is that a time when u know yourself? I didn't. Is that a good basis for a marriage?

  I hope there is more to it than just sex.

  I have to agree. I got married at just gone 20, we had been dating since I was 18 and he was 19. It was mainly to do with sex and the lack thereof! Although if you had asked me at the time I would have sworn blind it was a genuine love match based on shared christian principles.

  Basically we were TOTALLY different, but as embryos of who we were going to grow up to be it wasnt apparent at the time.

  I have always said if I knew how to mastubate I would never have got married!

  In addition though, marriage for me represented a complete improvement in my life. I mean, I wasnt cynically thinking ' oh I stand to gain this that and the other'. But at the time I was window cleaning, living in a bedsit, couldnt drive and had no academic prospects.

  I honestly think that if say I had been to university, if I was renting a niceish flat, if I had a car, some nice clothes and some disposeable income, when I met anyone I would be thinking "what can this person bring to the table", and if I already had a nice little life going on I would have been more picky about a them having a personality I respected and looked up to. As it was there was nothing decent in my life so he represented a complete 200% improvement to my life, and I just forgot to look at whether we were compatible or not.

  Im having non witness family over for xmas and have said NO PRESENTS. I just dont want it to start, worrying and looking for gifts to me is painful, id rather give something that catches my eye and I think they will enjoy, rather than HAVE to give at a particular time (children excepted)

  Saying that I will be buying my DH a gift...............but everyone else NO !!

  No no, I agree - it does become a real problem having to think of gifts.

  I love christmas because I have the money to fund it in the way I like, but even with the finances it has become impossible for me to think of gifts that dont just clutter the house up with more and more things.

  I havent been able to think of anything to buy my partner this year. Ive bought him an ethical gift (the cost of a midwife for 10 ladies in a 3rd world country! - done off the back of his total awe of me having a baby this year) but I cant think of anything to get him.

  Holy rabbit hutches! Theres an official Witless view of pets now?? Cant they keep their god bothering noses out of anything??

  First anal sex now the guinea pigs - dear lord....

  IMO my rabbits are one step away from being the sunday lunch if they dig one more hole in my lawn!

  Thats not being horrible at all.

  As I keep reminding my partner - I havent had to celebrate christmas for 30 years, do you think im gonna start celebrating and do the bits I dont like? No way! I cherry pick the bits I like and screw the 'obligatory presents'.

  And as I keep reminding my daughter - I dont know what the rules of christmas are so I can do what I like (this in regard to my 10yr olds surprisingly strict rules about when I can put the tree up and when I have to take it down!)

  You do exactly what you like regarding christmas and feel no guilt - we are FREE! We were told we were free in da troof and we werent, theres no reason we are going to start slavishly following another set of peer pressured rules.

  Plus your friend is a tight wad! Send him a recycled christmas card (one of last years with a sheet of white paper glued over the writing).

  Going to Walt Disney World - Any suggestions?

  we're bringing our 9 and 7 year old kids to disney over the x-mas break this year.

  it's actually going to be their gifts and they don't know we're going.

  just wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to what to see or do there or what to avoid.. something else we just found out, since they cancelled the space shuttle launch the other day, they may be doing it on jan. 2, i'm excited about possilbly going to see it!

  Take earplugs - the piped music is sickmaking, at least it was in the Paris Disneyworld.

  Thats a fantastic surprise for your kids tho!
