Trinity?!?!
by Lynne Y inhello, it's lynne again... how's everyone doing?
um..i have a quick question.. haha.. .
one of the most distinguishable doctrine(?

Crykee, not trinity again lol.Anyway, you can believe what you like, WTBS is not the only one to reject it though. For me personally it is completely confusing concept. (Not that I find much hope in believing in god these days anyway)
Anyho, here is a thread you might like to study: http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/10/92969/1.ashx

Do they allow internet at bethel?
by freedom96 in.
.
just curious, with all the internet bashing, etc, if a bethelite wanted to have internet access in their room, would it be allowed.. if so, i wonder if they monitor the activity?

That's ok Tetrapod but have a look in what context I've said it.
only that an ex friend of ours (still JWs) his son at bethel got his dad a laptop but put on it the software that the son can monitor where he goes on the internet all the way from bethel!!! Yes, across many state lines. This kid is in the computer department. So if he's monitoring his own dad, you can just imagine how they are monitoring the bethel family.
i work in network security for a very large corporation and what you describe doesnt seem likely. perhaps the software logs where he goes and then the son can check it later or something. as far as bethel goes i'm sure they have a proxy server that logs everything and blocks content based on categories but whoever manages can get around it if they want to and i doubt their equipment is very sophisticated, i'm sure its not hard to bypass if someone were so inclined and i wouldnt be surprised if certain people had unlimited access, for research of course.Joyzabel said first part than Pwned commented the second part and my comment was only there to reinforce Joyzabel that such a story is by no means improbable. We are not talking here about monitoring corporation (even though that would be feasible too) but individual user. So ordinary spyware would do. All that guy in bether would have to have would be a small server program that would receive list of all sites, cookies, and even keystrokes if it is sophisticated enough. He'd probably have to have a permanent IP address to do that. But if he worked at computer dept. as the story goes he could have easily used WTBS servers to do it. And since he might also have access to logs he can make sure to cover his own track. Not hard to imagine, good hackers do even better job than that.
So yes, complete B.S.

Questioning the Big Bang Theory
by Rod P inbut halton arp's continuing research will forever change the direction of astronomy.
or do our observations of nature show things that a theory says are impossible?
gamow had argued that the stars' temperatures are too low to create elements heavier than helium.

LMAO,
Crykee, I was so tired I didn't even see I've missed somehow whole chunks of a sentence. This is what I was trying to say:
Sorry TetrapodPerhaps you guys should look a bit further and deeper than what is "obvious" or apparent in the sky. Universe is way stranger than most people here (except Tera i guess) would be able comprehend.

I was thinking of starting a thread about String theory - super strings - multiverse and end with M-theory, but I sense that most people wouldn't have a clue what a hell I'm talking about, so I'm afraid that entire effort of writing such a thread would be almost complete waste of my time.
So yes, have a bit of a research. Here is also a page with good videos to watch. http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/elegant/program.html

Sorry mate but this is a major B.S.
You don't have to be overly smart these days to write a spyware or a Trojan-horse that will do exactly that. In fact, that's exactly what most of those things actually do do. -

How to reach the naughty dubs who use the internet...
by misspeaches ini've been having a bit of a browse around on www.myspace.com looking at the jw groups.. there are so many listed there and heaps of young jws seem to frequent the sites.. how feasible would it be for someone to setup a jw group under the guise of being pro and slowly but surely bring up questions like... 'hey my history teacher taught from <insert publication name here> that jereuselum (sp) wasn't destroyed in 607bce but in 587bce.
is that true?
whats that all about???'.

I think they are already here, considering the ratio of how many posts vs. hits for any given topic, so I'd say just keep posting here. This place is getting popular.

for me i would get rid of the disfellowshipping!

There's so much to change that WTBS wouldn't look like WTBS anymore, more like UN. But wait they are trying to be like UN.
