I'm not religious nor do I have preference either way but based on simple personality test I'd say biblical text is describing two different entities, god of old testament is vengeful and easily offended personality, Jesus of new testament is more forgiving and understanding, and in fact takes values to a higher level of prinicples rather than black and white, right and wrong type of thing. So based on that they would be two different persons, assuming they ever existed at all.

One of my friends has a quote on her online profile that made me think, I think I'm gonna adopt it
"Life is short, Break the rules, Forgive quickly, Kiss slowly, Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably, And never regret anything that made you smile"
Yeah, love it
another one just like it
"For those that love me no explanation is neccessary, for those who don't none is possible"
How about that one?

To quote it from the book "Barefoot Zen"
If we take away, name, career, titles, rank or social position, gender or material status, who or what are we?
We are not always faced with that profound question, we go through motions of life unconcerened about fundamentals and cornerstone one is what is really the truth. Sometimes though something happens that forces us to look deep inside to find what it is really that matters to us the most, and what it is we are living for. In those moments of sudden flash we are transformed, we see things clearly, it is not a religious experience, though some people like to see it that way. It is the moment we are finally faced with our own demons and are made better for it. Hence, the truth is something very personal that is reflection of each individaul soul

Is it naive to believe that you will always be faithful to your partner?
by nicolaou ini was told i was naive for saying that i'd never cheat - ever.
but i meant it honestly.
i guess my question is, can it happen to anyone?

I've been in a long term relationship for a number of years and stood my ground, so I think you can. But the biggest temptation is not so much what is available outside of marraige but what is not available inside. If your partner is too cold physically (unless they are physically handicapped) regardless of what you try to make it work then I guess you have an option to either make love to your hand or have someone else do it for you.

Is it possible that we are ruining the earth?
by Bubblie insaw robert f. kennedy, jr. give a lecture on "it's not easy being green" and "crimes against nature" last night at utc.
he really knows his stuff about what is going on with the environment.
he talked about how the coal mining in west virginia has torn down large mountains because they dump the rocks and soil into the rivers then the mountains are gone.

Well you can do a simple test and ask, how many Americans are ready to give up on their 4x4? In order to save the planet people need to start looking from inside how much of an impact they are making. Funny thing is, everyone thinks "well what can I do as a person, I don't make that much of an impact, do I?"
The only problem with that is 90% of other people think the same.

I don't think it is neccessarily either or question. I'm a real believer in romance, love, communication, relationship but a lot of times marriage just completely kills all of those things and turns into a perverted antithesis of what it is supposed to stand for, having said that there are enough of isolated examples where it worked wonders which leaves a faint hope it just might work out with an exceptional person

In Germany, the Watchtower logo must be removed from all kingdom halls
by processor inaccording to german april issue of our kingdom ministry, the watchtower logo must be removed from all kingdom halls:.
it sais that the watchtower logo - a stylised watchtower or a watchtower with a bible - is used by the watchtower society.
thus, it should not be used by congregations or private persons, neither on kingdom halls, stationary or anything else.

They are behaving more and more as a company... now a billion dollar question is, does that means they have no claim on properties where KH are located?

Can a Lack of Sleep Cause Psychiatric Disorders?
by Archer inok where do i start.
last year my mother-in-law (still a witness) fell ill, she seemed at least in begining kind of ok during the day but at night would go nuts, always needing something.
my wife is the main person looking after her, i help when i can but my early rising means if i don't get enough of sleep i might as well stay at home or someone can get killed (i work at subway control centre).

Snapped. It just occurred to me that I REALLY hate my life. Mostly all of it.
by easyreader1970 inhere lately, i have just been wishing that i could just fast-forward through my remaining years on earth and just die to get this nonsense all over with.. i have only myself to blame.
if i had gone through with my attempt to leave this hokey religion about sixteen years ago when i attempted to--before i got married and had kids--then maybe i wouldn't be teetering on the very slippery edge of sanity.
instead i punked out, buckled under the threats of shunning and guilt of abandoning family members, and so here i am--looking into the mirror every morning wondering when the nightmare is going to end.
