If all living expenses are paid for you by someone else then you don't need money. They live like heads of state, if they need to travel it's provided, if they need to eat it's cooked, if they need new clothing it is tailor made... feel free to add more, but bottom line is, they don't need any
today as i was researching past and present members of the governoring body of j.w.
's something stood out to me that seemed out of proportion towards other name origins.. the vast majority appeared to be from the germanic peoples.
either they were originally from germany themself or their parents immigrated from germany.. here are some of the ones i researched and you should be able to spot just from their names a hint of their origins:.
This is not another anti-german conspiracy is it?
But what is rather interesting to me, like dropoffyourkeylee said, is that just about all members of GB were born in the same country. Somehow hard to swallow that 'god' would find other nationalites less appealing even after all this time, Any witness reading this ever wonders, how come there aren't any Asians in GB even though they are one of the most numerous race on earth.
does anyone know of any good examples of evidence that humans were around well before the jw claim, that doesn't rely on anything they so casually dismiss, like radiometric dating?.
Hmm, wouldn't know where to start, but here is one you maybe haven't heard of yet.
i was just glancing at the back of the october 15th watchtower and the questions from readers.
the question under discussion is "what should i do when i have a question about something i read in the bible or when i need advice about a personal problem?".
the article goes on to discuss how we should consult the watch tower publications index among the many 'tools' that have been provided by the faithful and discreet slave whenever we have a question that is not directly discussed in the publications.. one statement really caught my eye, because it's the first time i've ever seen the society actually dissuade people from writing in with questions.
When I was a kid, an elder used to ask if anyone had any question. Soon I took him up on offer and at the end of every meeting would ask something. Well after a month or so of that everyone was told to ask questions in private after meeting. So much for being able to handle questions of 5 y old.
That aside I don't think that openly asking questions was ever ecouraged. What is happening now is pretty much what you'd expect to see from a paranoid society afraid of it's own shadow. When you spill out stuff that contradicts other stuff you said the only "sensible" thing you can do is to prohibit questioning.
21 days to go!.
whos looking forward to it?.
any kiwis here on this board?.
well, i heard some people talkin?
just the other day.
and they said you were gonna put me on a shelf.
just wondering if anyone here is a supporter of the zeitgeist movement?
it's not a religion, and it's not zeitgeist: the movie.
it's a group of people who want to eliminate the world's biggest problems by removing their root cause.
Sounds nice but it is too idealistic too succeed. It's just another utopian ideology with a different flavor. Only system that survived different forms of goverment throughout the ages is market, which is what we have. I wish it wasn't so, but it is. For Zeitgeist to succeed would require complete dismantling and abandonment of current way of living. Many utopian ideas start with premise that human is essentially a noble creature and under right circumstances that nobility would carry him forward. Well it just ain't so. Its been proven without shadow of a doubt that humans want practical solutions with immediate returns. Market economy was not imposed on society. Society experimented with many forms of goverments and ideologies way before that. Market economy is the only thing that has survived it all. It is not perfect but it is us, our mirror image.
